Johnny, you're in my world now! First, Justin has some mad skills...I hope you bought a nice bottle of "brown water" for him! Second, a $5 wrecking bar worked for me 30 years ago and still works great...a razor knife pried over a thumb is a good bottle opener!

I have a couple of questions, but first my comments. I love the fact that you used plywood to wrap the shop, as i believe its a lot better to hang tools and such from. You dont have to worry about finding a stud to hang most things, and it wont break as easily as drywall. My question though is about the office and front area. Why did you do a mix of drywall and plywood. I can doing the office itself with wood, but why wasnt the outside of it drywall? Is it just because the drywall sucks so much?

I've heard that its good practice to do taping vertical, then horizontal, then corners. This way the horizontal tape covers the tails of the vertical tape, and the corner tape covers the tails of the horizontal tape.
@TheLingonator5 жыл бұрын
doesn't really matter here, the vertical tails ended up in the bevels of the horizontal joints before the feathering passes of mud so everything stays flat either way

Wow! So impressed! If you were to fill in the gaps between the plywood sections, how would you do it? I did something similar, but the seams are uneven between sheets! I tried joint compound, but it looks terrible! Also, if painted, would you use standard latex paint?
@craftedworkshop3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm not sure that I'd try to fill the gaps really. You could either add battens over the seams as kind of a decorative accent or accentuate the seams and leave a larger, more consistent gap. I really like that look and plan to do that inside the tiny house project I'm working on.
@kirkweaver67214 жыл бұрын
Sorry for another picky comment man, you do such good work, I see you using glue of some description when your fixing anything like to bits of furniture pieces together, why didn't you use stud adhesive for the plasterboard (drywall) thats quite a common building requirement when plastering/drywalling ... only asking as I deal with plasterboard regularly and using stud adhesive is a building requirement here

@dujbzy81195 жыл бұрын
I liked the video but just a couple of things Is it not standard practice in the US to not glue wall panels as well as screw? Also for the future, cement sheeting is easy enough to just nail up rather than screwing and you wont break the corners as easy
@craftedworkshop5 жыл бұрын
Yea, since I’m renting, we tried to make everything easily removable, hence the screws and no adhesive. Thanks!
@xalted69915 жыл бұрын
when you are doing drywall every seam except corners has to have a bevel, if they dont the "mud" wont get in between the seams properly

@animationcreations425 жыл бұрын
@brianohbrian burns I actually used tape and mud for one of the walls in my house and although it was quicker, the dry time between coats meant it didn't take much longer than the plastered walls I did and imo the plastered walls was smoother
