I loved the trends section you’ve added and how you approach it from the perspective of how they fit with your personal style and comfort level. I think that’s a much more sustainable way of approaching fashion: recognizing that you might want to experiment with specific trends, but also not just buying into every single one just because it’s popular. You have developed such a classic wardrobe with a couple trend-led pieces mixed in, and I just think that’s really smart.

For the collar on your coat: makeup remover wipes! Seriously, it works. I guess micellar water and a cotton pad would work too, but I haven't tried it myself. If your coat is machine-washable (and they usually are, even if the tag says otherwise), maybe dr. bronner's as a pre-treatment?

Loved this Lucy! I will watch either, but my argument for styling vid vs capsule wardrobe tour is that it's a sustainable skill that can be used regardless of style or wardrobe size, rather than temptation to buy more pieces we may not need! Plus, if we'll get to see lots of the wardrobe in the sample outfit formulas. I'm a big fan of Alyssa Beltempo's sustainable styling tips & it's always fun to see perspectives from people with different styles.

I would love to do a capsule wardrobe but my issues is that my style literally changes every year! This is often down to how I’m feeling mood wise/ about my body and confidence - do you have any advice to accommodate to this? As in, build a capsule wardrobe that coincides with body changes and mood?

The best I can say is to have some versatile pieces that can be styled in different ways, and utilizing style hacks to get a piece to work with different aesthetics. Ex. an white button-up can by styled with the sleeves cuffed and the top few buttons undone, and paired for leather pants and chunky jewelry for a slightly edgy look, but if you instead wrap the tails of your button-up into a midi skirt and roll the sleeves loosely and wear espadrilles, you have a more romantic look. If you layer it under a sweater with the collar poking out and the cuffs showing from under the sweater sleeves, tucked into some tailored trousers with loafers, you can make it look preppy, but if you wear it open over a cami with jeans and kitten heels you have a nice lunch-out daytime look. Identify commonalities in the styling between the aesthetics you're drawn to, and exploit those similarities to make it possible to have a slightly smaller wardrobe that caters to all of those needs. And don't be so caught up by the notion of a capsule wardrobe that you don't allow yourself to have the space you need to feel fulfilled with your style! A 30-40 piece capsule wardrobe isn't enough for everyone, me included, so make sure that you're focusing on following your style and not just following someone else's formula. Have fun! (btw the entire rant about button-ups was stolen from this video I watched from a youtuber named Alyssa Beltempo. Checking her out and her series "shop my closet" may help you!)

The big temperature fluctuations the uk has (and my own bodies bad temperature regulation) is why I find have a seasonal wardrobe so hard. Yesterday I was in a floaty summer dress but today it really wet and cold. I’ve needed vest tops and long sleeves in the same week. I’m pondering if I could pack some of the jumpers & long tops away but still leave a small number for layering and colder days.

Good video and thanks. You can wool wash wool and cashmere in the machine or hand wash. Dry cleaning, unless a special method, uses lots of chemicals that really aren’t environmentally friendly. Just a thought. 🤩

Re cleaning the puffer - if it’s down then a specialist detergent and wash on the delicates cycle (no fabric condition) works wonders 👌🏻 it just takes a while for them to fully dry out and “puff” back up, or a quick spin in the dryer. Loved the video!

Is it ‘style evolution’ or is it regretting buying trend pieces ? I think the lines have become too blurred. Sure, style can change but I think one season of wearing an item feels a little too speedy for me.

You are so correct! “My style used to be [thing that was trendy a year ago], but now it’s more [thing that’s trendy now]” is kind of a funny way to look at things. It’s worth it for anyone to examine that before making future purchases for sure!

Hi Lucy! I think you would love djerf avenue - sustainable swedish brand by Matilda Djerf. They have many basics, the quality is soo good and the clothes sit wonderfully (also with big bum smaller waist)They might be similar to what you’re looking at from aritzia. Their black on-the-go pants are my favorite pants in the world, comfy, stylish with a black silky look, good quality, i wear them several times a week. I think you could also like their favorite pants (suit trousers) of their breezy sets for summer

Uniqlo waste is damaging lives here in Indonesia, partly because of the goverment don't set a strict regulation. Sungai Citarum (Citarum river) is badly harmed. Moreover, they don't pay the employees fairly (if im not mistaken, they postponed the payment for many months). I love a wardrobe organisation! You might enjoy a colour consultation, I had one with a company called Colour Me Beautiful who look at skin tone/eye colour/hair colour etc and put together a palette of colours, I got back to mine all the time and it’s massively helped my wardrobe!
