The Vanquish VRD RC crawler chassis kit is already one of the best rc crawler chassis on the market given how much value and performance the kit has, however I always feel to need to “hot rod” everything. So with some basic tracing tools, I set off to design my own set of rc crawler chassis rails to better understand how the link geometry and shock positioning affect the performance of the rc crawler. I have never played much with angled skid rc crawlers and I want to make some changes to the already awesome Vanquish VRD to see what, if any, performance could be extracted. I modified the link positioning and shock positions along with reducing more weight and raising the skid for more belly clearance. This first rendition turned out pretty awesome so I took it out to the rocks to see how it would perform compared to the stock form and I’ve got to say that this is by far the best rc crawler chassis that I have ever driven, it was glued to the rocks and definitely had me chuckling like a little kid as it clawed its way up seemingly impossible lines.
I hope you guys enjoyed this video on my rc crawlers chassis design, let me know what you think down in the comments below and help me out with a thumbs up on this one and don’t forget to subscribe for more awesome rc content from Shredcraft RC! Thanks for Watching!
