This model is beautiful for a detail in which many fail. Dedication to detail in the aging paint of railway cars, as well as in the aging of the structures that accompany railroad tracks. Nature grows as it would in reality exposed to the sun, the tracks reflect its use, with dark sand for its use. The colors of the buildings also reflect that reality. Those details really make the difference and make your contemplation a visual delight. Without forgetting all the infrastructure used with great success in the combination of its elements. That is of people of great sensitivity, and ability to observe the details that make everything. Congratulations to all those involved in achieving this beautiful railway model. Salutations de France

You explain so much about design and perspective that I had never considered. We are designing our layout so this is very helpful. The kits are perfect for the background. Thank you and keep making these great videos!

Those buildings are coming out really nice, Jason! The forced perspective is very effective, and the trees make all the difference! Good work!!!

Timely video Jason … I’m currently working on some layered background buildings for our family’s OO/HO layout. I’d already cotton on to the idea of placing the HO scale structures behind the OO scale ones to add depth but the idea of putting N scale behind them all is both exciting and challenging! Thanks for the detailed explanation of how to kitbash a full building into a bigger flat, the use of scanned images for the side walls, making them triangular to add variety, your painting, weathering and shadow techniques and the judicious placement of foliage and trees to enhance the illusion of depth. Time to get online and source some N scale kits!

Brilliant wark, as always, Jason. You perfectly matched the mood of the portrayed era. In my opinion you're the best modeler I've ever seen on the tube. Thanks and greetings from Italy!

Jason, wow, such imagination in taking a kit, and making it completely different. Your techniques on the colours for the forced perspective is great. Cheers, and stay safe, Michael

Amazing illusion, very simple and effective. Those large brick structures are something I'm more familiar with in the UK towns and cities, warehousing, factories and old cotton mills linked originally by canals before railway came along. 🚂😁👍❤️

I've gotta say that you're building techniques are incredible, I have been following your channel for quite some time now and have seen your layout take on an amazing amount of growth over that time. Keep up with the wonderful journey you're going through in creating this world. 😃

It amazes me the way your mind works. ( That's the hard part for us , duplicating you thought process) , you build front to back , middle to front , middle to back. I've always built back to front. I can't get a plan in my head. It's all hit and miss ," this might work here", process for me. I love your techniques to get what's in your head out there. This does help us. Thank you so much. Ps i can see some of Boomers trees in there.😊

What a great idea, and wonderful set of kitbashes, Jason. I was waiting to see what N-scale buildings you would put back there. Coincidently I had just built four N structures for our club's portable layout, they're on my channel now. Nothing like the massive (for their scale) structures you created. They look great back there.

Wow Jenson great video, fantastic using n gauge buildings for depth of field. Also great idea to scan the buildings and print them for the sides, I never thought of that, I would have built the sides. Haha.. You can also use them on other projects. Really enjoyed watching this one. 👍

Dear Jason, very interesting episode! Love the way you’ve shown the dissipating color perspective on the street photo example and how you accentuated this effect by using the french blue as a primer. Still have to get into the deep of Photoshop and Illustrator. The copy method is such a great idea. Although I humbly think to do cut out method will definitely enhance the ‘flat’ into a more 3D illusion. As a comment to that, love the way British modelers show their techniques by using different layers of cardboard folded in texture papers. Have been using thin foam underflooring for making models, wonder how the copy method, laser cutting and hand cutting may even add texture and depth beyond the obvious effects of printed paper. In all, very cool and beautiful how the buildings add to the illusion of depth and perspective. The visual story of the layout is truly expanded beyond the horizon of the backdrop. Looking forward to your next episodes. Cheerio

I would recommend using a layer mask in Photoshop if you want to erase some of the image. This way you can use a black and white layer to indicate what part of the picture is erased without actually destroying the image information as the eraser tool does.
