This is an encouraging video. I just received my kit, but I have not built it yet, but now you have given me good motivation to start!!!

I used the PA circuit to build a QRP beacon and found the device sometimes died. I was observing some unwanted oscillation in the PA. Fixing a 30V zenner from collector to ground fixed the problem. 73

It seems like a good solution for not spending much. Were you able to make QSOs?

No, I was not able to make a QSO. You need a much more powerful antenna than mine. But I think it is possible.

Where did you get yours from? I only seem to see bare pcb kits, none with the case..73

Thanks for the video! I always worry about Chinese kits quality. Did you use eBay? Who was the seller?

Hi, I am a new ham. How many AA batteries are in your battery pack? What is the name of the wire which connects the battery pack to your transceiver?

I don't know anymore. It was described in the small manual shipped with the kid.

This "forty-9er" kit doesn't look at all like any forty-9er kit I've ever seen, all the components are WAY spread out on this PCB not at all compact like the typical kits, the PCB is green too instead of red and it also has a 3rd torroid vs only two?! With that cleared up, not sure if what the original kit uses will help but here goes... L3 is a FT37-43 and gets 11 turns of 0.51mm wire. (thicker torroid, sometimes it's green) L4 is a T73-2 and gets 16 turns of 0.51mm wire. (thinner torroid, red)

@@echopapaqrp8166 You could also incorporate a Pixie switch and have your choice of 4 different frequencies -- including the Chinese QRP freq that came with the kit -- whenever you want them. Thanks for the informative video!

I was under the impression that you should not TX without an antenna; maybe use a dummy load if you just do some tests?

If you look at around 3:03, I think that's a dummy load he removes from the antenna connector before connecting the antenna.

@@wkjagt true! at a glance, to me, it looked like an adapter for the antenna connector, but yeah, my bad

My 49er is also better than my Pixie. I recommend it. The receiver is excellent and the output is about 1 W. N9EGT

Привет. Получил с Алиэкспресс такой же набор. Стал смотреть, а там вместо микросхемы NE602, продавец положил другую. NE592D. Я не знаю, наверно это не аналог NE602.
