Building our large Dart Frog Nature Inspired Vivarium DIY

Well it finally happened. Not sure if it was the trip to the Vancouver Aquarium and their incredible displays of Dart Frogs or spending so much time at the last Reptile Expo looking at them at Understory Laboratories table...regardless its happening!
I was torn between two species as my first foray into Dart Frogs but my heart always came back to the first ones that inspired me.
Dendrobates tinctorius azureus, the bright blue poison dart frogs from Suriname and Northern Brazil. True blue is such an unnatural colour in nature and one would be hard to not get captivated but these incredible beauties.
Now Dart Frogs are very delicate amphibians so care must be taken to make sure their environment is set up correctly and matured before adding the frogs. So this will be a long slow journey but today we take the first steps in getting a large scale nature inspired vivarium for them.

Awesome bud 🙌 one day I’ll get some again. I’m in process of upgrading everything 1st then start getting few new critters. I already have like 5 new critters I haven’t shared yet so stay tuned if you want to see them. But the new enclosure looks amazing and that tub wall is great idea. I use tubs for few different things haven’t tried them out with plants yet. I may have to use that in the future definitely shout you out when I do.
