[2] Welcome back! Today we continue from the first part of our Wurt Desert adventure! We make our king, his troops, and what might be my favourite item in the entire game: The Turf-Rasier Helm! ive been inspired... I think sandstorms expanding outside of the desert would be a more compelling antlion threat than sink holes, with buildings getting sand covered disabling them till the player cleans them off, and tributing or beating antlion contains the storms back to the oasis, it would create a bigger impact that has more potential solutions and doesnt leav a big hole in your base you just have to stare at for days before it goes away

I really dislike the big hole. Sure it's a prime motivator but they last for WAY too long, and such an agregous punishment for a simple whoopsie, especially towards newer players. I think an idea like yours would work really well, and help guide the player to "what the hell is actually causing this"

@@BiddoBamss also gives more agency in how to handle it, be lazy and deal with the sandy mess, dive into a cave, take to the sea, use tools you get from spring (luxury fan) and the current ways of dealing with it would still be available so it takes the mechanic away from a required maintenance in a specific part of the map to something with options its a big reason i'm not a fan of shipwrecked's volcano eruptions. and while I haven't played hamlet myself the aporkalypse at least is an event you can prepare for and handle instead of always running back to the clock to roll it back.

8:35 This girl isn't old at all. You see, in real world, antlion has two grow stages, a larva and an adult. Larvas are small desert hunters, who make a sand hole trap for ants. (That's why it called antlion). Antlion in game also makes sand holes for us. So if we count all of this, plus include a fact she is an Ant + Lion hybrid, we can say, that she is only on Larvakitten stage

@@BiddoBamss unfortunately, in real life antlions are only threatening in their larval form, iirc a fully mature one doesn't even have the ability to eat and exist purely because having wings helps with reproduction

I love Wurt so much she's like my baby. For one she's adorable, and two I just love the sense of community with a Merm town cause I don't have anyone to play multiplayer with (even though I can join open worlds) but like, it just gets so lonely in the constant sometimes lol. I know Webber can have the spiders but the noises they make just bother me, but maybe I'll give him a try.

fun fact! you can completely forego any and all effortful thermal regulation in the summer with just a fire and a watering can! if you slap a thermal stone next to a fire and hold down the button for watering, you'll keep splashing your rock long after the fire dies and lower the charge by 5* each time until reaching a maximum of -20*C! not even fridges can go that low in the summer

Some tips to keep in mind with the Antlion. If you only want to pacify her, a single bucket nearly maxes her "calm" meter. (Max of 40ish minutes I believe) Get a Cartographer table thing, you can turn the blueprints you've already learnt into papyrus. And trust me, you'll have a lot of them laying around if you keep her alive. And I know you probably already know this but, if you ever decide to fight her, get a firestaff and burn her sand castles and spikes to make some cool decorations. By the way, will you continue this playthrough when the wurt rework comes out?

Thanks for the tips!! Duely noted :) I kept the spare blueprints and such for the papyrus reason! And I hope so! Maybe I'll start a new world but I'll have to see, depends if people (and myself) enjoy this current playthrough enough. Though if I plan on it being a long term thing, I most likely will :)
