Another great vlog. It chimes in with what I was up to last week. I spent 3 days on my boat trying to understand the ancient and unlabelled electrical system that has all different coloured wiring on it. I found the positive and negative inputs, and wired in a new fuse box from those, and wired in the water pump and Thetford cassette toilet and got them plumbed in too. I’ve also installed a galvanic isolator from the shore power earth. So I now have running water (cold) and a working toilet. I am sorry to hear about your granddaughter and hope she makes a full recovery soon. My heart goes out to her, as I have had otosclerosis, which is calcium build up on the stapes in the middle ear. I had to have a stapedectamy which is where they go in through the ear-drum, remove the stapes and replace it with a Teflon replacement. I hope she gets better soon. Thanks so much for those kind words. It is looking really positive right now, so we all feel a bit calmer. You have been busy! All my electrics are being fully labelled, have started that already, as much for me in the future or the next owners. Prob plumb our toilet in today.

Cheers Michael. we are glad that was a help. I hadn't planned to but will allow for pump isolation now, so thats always a good idea. Those valves will go on a lot of other things too such as the toilet, shower etc.

Looks good....fiddly job. Plumbers tip: When putting ptfe tape on a fitting hold the fitting in your left hand and wind the tape over the top of the fitting with the right hand. That way the tape wont unwind as you tighten the fitting.... Simple tip but I havent seen anyone explain that yet, maybe wrong but! Question: Any filtration planned? I like the tank filling hose inline filter, simple but effective and makes sure the sh1t doesant get into your tank in the first place....that filter on the pump is only for rust or grit I think?

That's a good tip Dave. I'll try and remember that. I know about winding the right way, but never figured a easy memory jogger. Yeah, the filter is just to prevent debris getting to pump. As tank is stainless we don't have to worry about rust and paint. We only filter our cold drinking water, just through a Brita jug.

Thank you Sammie. We just had a video call with her, following her operation. Luckily they didn't have to go too far. Today, temperature is right down and you can see a massive improvement. So all is looking really good. Can't wait to give her a big hug.

Spot the mistake, no inner sleeve put in before connecting pipe to pump on return end. I think 🤷🏼‍♂️

Bit late but can I suggest you use Loctite 55 instead of PTFE. I have had many problems with PTFE but Loctite is amazing and you don’t uses as much

Now the tank is full John, it will probable stay as it is. I have used PTFE all over the place in the past with no issues at all.
