I would paint the wall white, the second barn has a lot of light and dark blue would make it feel smaller and darker. Also, use the cars as color pop instead of the walls

@@marsdencarl89 I like white but if you want the cars to pop white is the wrong color then it needs to be black for the cars to really pop the way you want them white don''t create that effect I feel but for the reason of it beeing a workshop white is probably a better choice because you don't want it too dark while your working.

@@sorten6653 you are so right. Black will pull all of the colours of the cars. There isn’t a huge amount of concrete blocks in that unit so light shouldn’t be an issue. Personally for continuity I would stick to the blue. It’s quite light reflective. 👍🏼

Maybe consider getting a dolly for transporting heavy box and other things that aren't too big. Easy to use, and you could just buy your own and have it for anytime you need it.

The Auxiliary is a digital button when the COMAND unit is on. Press MEDIA and AUX is an option. So it will be linked to the wiring loom. The Aux socket should be in the glove box or centre arm rest

Yeah, retrofitted my previous C to be able to connect my iPhone for music…. Also make sure to have clean ground, otherwise, you’ll have a whine in audio due to a ground loop

You should paint it like an f1 garage, with some cabins in the Color’s of the Williams f1 car, and make your partners look like sponsors on the walls. Maybe that would be best suited for the workshop part, but it would be so cool! 🙂

If your putting car lifts in that area I think it would make more sense to orientate them perpendicular to the wall instead of parallel, it just makes everything more accessible. Also if you are going to do a lot of work there it pays to have wheel Dollie’s to move cars around….

The best workshops would have them angled at 35 - 45 degrees to the outside wall - best for vehicle access and working around.

Depending on how much Tim wants to invest in the barns a bridge could suffice to attach both buildings and deal with the height difference! Could be made out of wood or aluminium. Depending on the distance you could even get a (car) trailerbed or an out of service trailer with a roof acting as a cartunnel towards the workshop.

I have a mercedes clk with the same age and ran into the same problem as you. I found this adapter in amazon with wich you can connect your phone via bluetooth to the car and listen to your music or answer phone calls! Kind regards from Spain!

If you intend on removing engines for diagnosis etc, it’s probably worth you getting an engine stand as well as the crane. Well worth getting drip trays as well

@@AB-80X an OBD port won’t tell you for sure that there is excess scoring on the cylinders, or that you bearings are wearing prematurely etc etc. I assumed that they want to learn, intend on removing engines (otherwise why buy an engine crane) and may well want to learn more while an engine is out - in which case, a stand would be convenient

Check the bonnet hinges on the E Class for the catches that allow you to open it up vertically. Really useful when working on the car for extended periods.

The bridge jacks you're supposed to have in pairs. You'd use them in between the wheel space of a drive on lift.

personaly i Really think long term with the equipment you have, and will have in the future, you should be looking at bringing in a good mechanic on board, who will not only help you bring more servicing items in house, but will also teach you how to do things, so when you want to take on a project that person will be on hand to quide you and help you resource the items you will need.

The AUX was an option in the glove box, and the connector is down the A-pillar. You’ll have to take the bottom door plastic off, and find it behind the carpet

Had an 06 model of the same vehicle, if i remember correctly if u press and hold either the tel button or nav button, it activates the aux mode. And in the glove box i had the aux input slot to connect the cable, hope that helps.
