Lovely drone shots of the city. That said, I dislike the idea of pedestrians sharing roads with motorists. It creates a lot of clutter as city looks disorganised. Imo State town planners can do better to manage human traffic by creating footpaths exclusively for pedestrians. It will create more orderliness in a civil society. Thanks for sharing bro. Your efforts are appreciate.;)

Don’t be fooled, most of the mansions being erected in owerri are from those who don’t live in owerri, and made their money outside (those based in Lagos, Abuja, Europe, North America, etc) or fraudsters who hide their stolen wealth in erecting massive structures all over the place. Unfortunately most of the houses in those estates remain vacant most of the year. The overwhelming majority of owerri citizens live in two or three bedroom flats, living hand to mouth. Hotels, bars, restaurants, merely enrich the few who own them but such businesses cannot provide a comfortable living for its employees. Owerri, unfortunately, doesn’t have industries like Lagos, onitsha, and Aba. It’s a place of civil servants mostly.

So in Lagos, Abuja and other cities fraudsters are not building mansions? My dear you have no point. You said owerri has no industries, it's not true because the first and oldest aluminum industry is in owerri it's called ALEX meaning aluminum extrusion industry Inyishi, owerri is playing host to one of Coca Cola largest brewery in Nigeria if not the largest, owerri single handedly is playing host to not less than six well reputable higher institution, owerri is one of the few cities in Nigeria that has industrial estate that made people not to be building industries anyhow. I am not mentioning hotel industry here because you will say it's not good, just because it's in owerri but if it's elsewhere it will be good. Yes I am not saying that owerri has arrived but just to appreciate the little we have. Again to tell you to stop commenting on what we do not know.
@goldenismonica15222 жыл бұрын
Chigozie Osuoha That’s the problem with Nigerians, refusing to accept the truth. How does stating fraudsters are erecting structures mean they aren’t doing the same in other cities? I’ve been to owerri plenty of times. Most were either earning a living as civil servants or they were making money from driving keke or buying/selling goods in the market. Rochas banned keke and also demolished owerri main market and you’re telling me that didn’t have a huge negative impact on the city? My problem is the misuse of the word “mega” city here. Nothing mega about it. Homes are over priced, roads are bad, and most people live to hand mouth. Why are homes in Enugu a fraction of the cost of homes in owerri?? And you believe those who live and earn their living in owerri are buying houses of N100 million + ? Those 6 higher institutions you mentioned. The fact that most graduates of these schools have to LEAVE owerri and imo state as a whole to seek employment should tell you everything you need to know about owerri. Producing many graduates but cannot retain them.
@chigozieosuoha71897 ай бұрын
You have to say what you know very well and not to say because you can speak or write. Owerri as a city is and has been one of the few city built from the scratch by the endogenous people of her state before any investor from outside the state or her sons and daughters in diaspora came to invest. As for industries, Owerri has industries which out of your ignorance, you don't even noticed or know. Let me tell you, Hotel business is a huge industry which Owerri is either number one or two in the entire country as long as hotel industry is mentioned, one of the largest aluminum extrusion industry and first in west Africa is in Owerri, Owerri has not less than eight standard higher intuition, it's part of industry. Then as a state like Lagos you mentioned, more than six international oil companies established and operates in Imo state, the largest single Palm plantation in the world is in Imo state, one of the largest and only coca cola bottling company in the entire southeast and south south is in Owerri, Imo state happened to be the first state in the entire country that single handedly built her airport in her capital which is Owerri. As for Aba and Onitsha, everywhere in Igbo land should not be manufacturing industrial state or city. If I may ask you, since people that lives in Imo state lives in two bedroom apartments and lives from hands to mouth as you have said, have asked yourself how come Imo state is the fifth richest state in Nigeria and the richest state in the south east? Think before 16:02 commenting

The city of Owerri is giving them goose bump as they wish they can bring it down online and offline with their touts from upper iweka to distroy our common wealth we've built for years. They can bear any name they wish to make people think they're from or had been to Heartland state before. But thank God for this massive confirmation from this Drone. Awka is just a backyard never to be compared to the Heartland city Owerri.

@Desmond Nedu Alaegbu you have always been the one crying and being envious. You are not from Imo state. We the people that are from Imo and live in imo will tell you. Owerri is a glorified village and the worst capital in the region, this is a fact. Most of the roads in Owerri are dilapidated and fifth is littered almost everywhere. It is an insult comparing our glorified village of Owerri to Awka that has beautiful flyovers, roads, worldclass ICC, etc. Please show us Owerri flyovers and Owerri ICC. That's why millions of Imo indigenes are living in Anambra. Owerri and Imo at large is a useless and worthless town that's why everyone there are running out. Even slum looks good on drone. hahahaha

HAHAHAHA! Before Awka will be half of what Owerri is, they'll demolish 90% of the buildings there and expand 95% of the roads. Awka is a town not a city. If you're talking about good cities in the East, it's Enugu, Owerri and Abakiliki. Then commercial cities it's only Aba and Onitsha. Aba may have bad roads,but if properly reconstructed, it's going to be a mega city.
@desmondnedualaegbu50973 жыл бұрын
@@naijawatchdog1193😄😄 I am from Imo state but I won't stop saying the bitter truth. Owerri is a glorified village littered with bad roads. Have you actually been to Owerri? There's no difference between Owerri and Aba in terms of roads. Owerri is not even a town but a rural area. Do you have ordinary functional flyover or even ICC? This is something that's already in Awka in a worldclass form and wide roads too. Before Owerri will come to half of level of Awka, emugu, Abakaliki, even Umuahia, then the whole of Owerri would have been demolished to build decent roads and decent houses. The only good cities in igbo land are Enugu, Awka and Abakaliki. Onitsha on the other hand is a mega city and also the economic capital of igbo land. Onitsha is equally like the America of Imolites that's why millions of Imo indigenes are trooping to Onitsha for greener pasture. We will elect someone that will reposition Imo state. #ihedioha23
