Welcome to the sixth episode of the fifth season of Building Perspective. In each episode, Master Builders CEO Will Frogley talks to some exciting characters within the building and construction industry.
In this episode, we hear from Tyrone Kearvell, Commercial Growth Manager at Land Services SA. A new addition as a Master Builders SA member, Tyrone speaks about the huge range of services and innovations that this organisation offers South Australians.
Formed in 2017 and currently employer to approximately 200 people, Land Services SA is not a government organisation, but rather a service provider to all, including the government. They provide assistance previously undertaken by the Land Titles Office and Valuer General which includes but is not limited to dealings, plan submissions and valuations for rates, taxes etc.
Tyrone and Will discuss the radical change in land value in SA since the organisation was formed, as well Master Builders SA’s current persistent lobbying to relocate the Yatala Prison site to free the land for housing. Although 2023 saw the largest land release in the state’s history, which Will worked very closely with the government in order to achieve, there is still a high need for housing within reasonable commuting distance to the CBD.
Tyrone also speaks on the different services that LSSA provides which includes premium consulting and Property Edge, a data research platform delivering an array of data on any form of property in the state. They also provide a commemorative certificate of ownership, which has grown in popularity for gifting to home owners, first home buyers in particular.
