Short video showing my touchscreen GPS which is accurate to less than 10cm using RTK. Cost of this GPS system is only £250.

hi, Superb video and powerfull looking system. I operate a small farm in Finland and would need to update our guidance system - been also looking for a raspberry project to learn on so this seems super interesting. I couldn't find any links to resources and and RTK GPS gives far too many hits so any details on the software and the build hardware would be great. Maybe add to the description? Or maybe I am missing something obvious... wouldn't be the 1st time :D

Just come across this lad, looks awesome, I’ll peek the TikTok, but I’d love to see you more active here! Understandably a lot of work for not much benefit though, either way thanks for the info!

hi @FarmTheory, great video! How accurate are the GPS readings?
@FarmTheoryNI3 жыл бұрын
Very hard to be sure. Real time around 2cm, repeatability under 10cm.

Take a look at ardusimple rtk2b receiver. Very cheap for a dual band rtk system.
@FarmTheoryNI4 жыл бұрын
It adds alot of cost going down that route, it's probably worth it and the zed-f9p module is something I will try at some point.

Hi there, am looking into building an rtk for setting ground control points for a drone. I’m based in Derry so only up the road from you. Would you be open to the idea of a visit just so can see the base station etc in more depth. Great job on what you’ve built!!

Andrew, how does your base station communicate with your rover? Is that over WiFi? LoRa?
@FarmTheoryNI4 жыл бұрын
Ntrip using rtk2go.com. The tractor has a sim card.

I have been using your base :) is it something you will be keeping permanently live? The enniskillen one probably a bit too far for me too.
@rossclarke80283 жыл бұрын
Also how do you find accuracy on slopes without roll correction?
@FarmTheoryNI3 жыл бұрын
Yep. It will always be online. You notice the slopes for sure but I had issues correcting for it so I just leave it.

hi did you take the base station offline? i cant for the life of me remember where it was hosted but guessing it was rtk2go? thanks @@FarmTheoryNI

Is there any way to make it more accurate than 10cm to suit ridging for potatoes?
@FarmTheoryNI5 жыл бұрын
I theory yes. You would get 2cm pass to pass (i have no way of validating this) but I have found it difficult to get better than 10cm repeatability when getting my base stations position, although the reference basestation I was using was 30 miles away.
@steveoldershaw9962 жыл бұрын
Hi have you got a picture or video of you base station and the parts used? Thanks
