I did this back in 1996-ish with an Amiga CD32 Console that I created an entire Arcade cabinet for and specifically with the Pinball Game: Pinball Fantasies CD32 edition. I dismantled the CD32 Joypad (regretably) and wired those to Cherry Switches Arcade buttons and wired the START button to Real Coin Slots so that inserting a Quarter would start the game. I used a CRT TV as the CD32 had direct S-Video out and Composite and RF out. It was Awesome!. The CD32 was on a Bungie Floating platform so that the CDROM would not skip if someone shook the arcade.

Awesome man, really comprehensive. I thought about doing this in the past but to get a bright enough screen used to be really expensive. Now that you can get a good screen for cheap I might go for it. Looks really good, sells the 3D effect better. With that fps you might get screen tearing without v-sync but definitely worth a shot playing with the settings.

I like this concept, however I think using something like the JSAUX M.2 Docking station and adding your OWN 2280 m.2 would be better. It may be possible to use less adapters and such. Now if you ALREADY have a dock with enough USB ports then maybe using an external SSD works better for you. Most docks with passthrough charging CAN use a power supply that's a bit higher wattage than the stock charger for the steam deck and THAT should provide more power for your peripherals.

There are also OTHER USB-C m.2 docks with more USB ports AND higher wattage capabilities. I believe there is a SABRENT model that can use 90w charger so you MIGHT be able to power your whole set up on ONE power connection. There are even docks that support HIGHER power passthrough SO IF you get creative with a USB audio solution and maybe use a USB powered monitor... would it not be wicked to power an entire unit off of a SINGLE USB brick?
