It looks like a beautifully engineered kit but hard to know how accurate it is without knowing what the decal options are. They managed to serve in the last few months of WWII in Europe. After that they were upgraded with some changes, particularly to the rear hull and back plate. but still really only served in secondary roles or in places like Hong Kong. (The main armoured elements of the British Army quickly converted to the Centurion which was in front-line service by the Korean War). Finally the main gun was a 17pdr but not the same one as the Firefly, Archer or Achilles. It was a shorter, lower velocity version colloquially known as the 77mm.

A well done model. I am a new follower of your channel and was wondering if you could also include an approximate assembly time for the model unpainted. This would help to give the beginning modeler an idea what is involved in putting one together. I realize a entry level modeler will need more time verses a "veteran" modeler such as yourself. If every once in awhile if you could build a stock model verses the accessorized version with a lot of aftermarket parts. This would give us a comparison of the basic kit verses a "tricked" out version. If you could note approximate drying/cure time of glued parts, as it would be too easy to start handling the assemblies before the glues have set. ( When I was a kid I tended to handle a model too quickly after gluing turning a nice kit into a gooey mess. These became fire cracker fodder. ) Again thank you for your great presentations.

A nice kit but I really doubt that the barrel is slide moulded. If it was it should at least be "drilled out" and a bit of rifling should also be visible. I don't know why Tamiya didn't add a PE screen for the rear of the Comet. The kit is about 50 € on our side of the pond and I'd expect some extras like that for this price. It would be a perfect kit for beginners if it wasn't that expensive. The result looks very nice even without any upgrades.

this looks a great kit from Tamiya. Comet tank has been a long time in coming to 1/35th scale. ( Matchbox did one in 1/75 about 40 years ago.. ) I saw a color photo of Comet tanks in Germany after ww2, finished in bronze green overall. also in photo was a VW in British army colors.. Volkswagon was actually started up by a British army officer with instructions to make "Beetles" as the army needed cars and it was thought good idea to have German motor industry started up again. later the British govt who owned VW simply gave it away for free to Germany ...

I am working on my first kit a U S Navy PBR 31Mk.II which I served on in Vietnam. My next project I have been researching which will be the USS Enterprise CVN-65. I saw Tamiya had a kit for $190.00 and Academy had one for $65. What do you think of Academy Kits. I'm weary of under priced kits because maybe the quality will not be as good as Tamiya's. Also I noticed that you use very little cement on your kits. How do you get a seal because I have to put clothes pins on my parts to seal them at times. Am I doing something wrong. They seem to fit on the dry run but spread apart as am applying the glue.

@kiethpederson7558 Жыл бұрын
I see the stuff time and time again people but tamiya or whatever the glue was down before they put the part down in a Glooze right away. Once they meet when I pour glue down, I have to put that part on instantly. Otherwise it won’t glue dry before I get them together.

I almost exclusively build Tamiya. Drive nothing but 🇯🇵 vehicles because the attention to quality, precision and unrelenting detail is unsurpassed by any company. 🇯🇵👍. Moreover, as a former skilled trades contractor at multiple GM plants , I strictly forbid my family from ever driving anything GM. Bottom line, the 🇯🇵 work ethic is far superior to the slacker American work ethic. The manufacturing processes at Tamiya are tuned to precision.
