Looks great! Maybe next time make the print walls hollow so you can fill with plaster like how Diy Perks did to remove box resonances
@SoundBlab Жыл бұрын
Thanks! The round shape of the enclosure really does eliminate a lot of resonance, so I did not feel the necessity to make it more complex though. Perhaps if it was a bigger speaker, it will make more sense.

Looks really nice. How thick did you print the walls of the speaker?

I am surprised you don't seal in the last coat of graphite with some kind of clear lacquer, or maybe even a robust polyurethane coating! You have no issues with the graphite staining stuff later on?
@SoundBlab Жыл бұрын
Interesting is that I have noticed the graphite does not rub off. I prefer it like this, a lacquer layer will just make it more dull than it is now, and remove that great metallic feel it has at the moment. It also easily buffs up with some cotton wool if you get finger marks on it.

How about finished it with crystalline effect paint, it will be very cool.

Nice speakers as always. Have you looked into acetone smoothing to get rid of your print lines? May be able to achieve similar results with much fewer filler/sanding steps!
@SoundBlab Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Not tried that yet. I see mixed results online, but probably worth investigating.

Can you tell us more about this driver? Would you consider something else for a similar project?
@SoundBlab6 ай бұрын
A really good performer, with a great frequency response that can easily be managed by a simple crossover. Its sounds very good, clear and tonally accurate. There are many other options, but as far as a paper cone full range driver goes in this size, this one is up there.

can you use aluminium powder instead of graphite powder?

I havent tried that yet.

Nice work. U a little nervous that orb speakers may have something to say about this?
@SoundBlab Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Nope, spherical speakers is nothing new. The theory behind it is very much public domain. Apart from that my design is different in almost every aspect, design, shape, size, drivers, application, etc.

@@SoundBlab thanks 4 the reply and info. In this day and age company’s go after just about everyone for everything. Glad 2 hear that they couldn’t in your case. Really like your channel by the way.

I don’t get LaVoce in my country can I use peerless tc9 FR driver
@SoundBlab Жыл бұрын
The design is specifically for the Lavoce, so unless you can make the modifications to the 3D model and the DSP files yourself, my answer would be, no.

Better from plywood. Clued rings. Heavy balls - less vibrations

Perhaps, but this is a 3D printing project, not a wood working project.
