Such a great job of getting so much into a relatively small space Credit to the team who built it

Great video guys, I love it!!! I would love to build something similar but obviously without the mapping stuff you guys use but certainly the rest of the stuff is first class. Cheers Steve

Great bunch of videos guys, just wondering where did you get that roof console? Looks awesome

I would be interested in knowing just how much the total fit out cost. Come to think of it the breakdown of costs might also help people thinking of setting up a 4wd.

I realize mapping is the HEMA bread & butter but there's basically no mention of the mapping system itself, just 'differential GPS.' Looks like a Trimble Tornado or Zephyr Model 2 antenna on top (gotta be L2-capable, right?) but is that an SPS-series receiver or a ProXRT in the console inside? And no mention of the ESRI ArcPad software or what interval you collect position data. Every second? Every 5sec?

Great video! Its a complex bit of kit!! With phone the phone, laptop and camera chargers do you run them all through the original 240v chargers or have you got 12v suitable adaptors/gear so you are reducing the use of the 240v inverter?

What GPS correction type are you using for mapping with the Trimble GNSS Receiver? CentrePoint RTX or CentrePoint RTK

If you install the antennas between the car and the canopy will that effect the range and signal?
@RBFR018 жыл бұрын
Yeah but if you have them hidden or neatly installed between the cab and the canopy will that effect range and reception?

Interesting build. I'm a bit skeptical whether I should care though. I don't doubt that Hema goes out and does some mapping, but the sheer math of how many roads there are vs how many any one car, or even a fleet of cars could check out, makes me wonder what the remote odds are that I would ever travel down a road that wasn't mapped before Hema mapped it. Maybe you can convince me my skepticism is unwarranted. I wonder whether this is more a show pony than a serious attempt to map Australia.

"Wie are taking a lot of time" is the key phrase. When people take pride in their work, the result is a reliable and enjoyable system. Unfortunately, here in the US, good, knowledgeable specialists are often not given the time requisite for complex systems, because everything is profit-motivated (time is money), with the result that the end product is shoddy and unreliable, and a lot of money is waisted!

You would be looking north of $120k easy. I see chassis extension, body work, bar, lights and every other expensive item but most of all the labor.
