If you go to the frozen leviathan, on the second level there is a synthetic fibers you can pick up right next to the elevator which gives you the recipe

@@KazzaK. Yeah so did I last night. lol I was a smart one and took the prawn to Marg's greenhouse and I regret it all. Hint: Be smarter than I was and just take the Sea Truck or you will regret it like I did, JJ upgrade is not enough to make it especially with what is also in the water with you...you won't make it! All I'm saying. Ever had to smuggle yourself to a floating island by riding a glow whale (thanks god it was with ultra tanks plus thinks "human smuggling" should be an unlockable achievement for Subnautica BZ) after leaving your totally swag loaded prawn ( I did not want it too die a very gruesome death) 598 m away at the bottom of a leviathan and brute shark infested waters? Yep, was a very lonely swim I can tell you too get back and dark oh so very friggin dark. Like I said I regret it all but Achievement Unlocked...somehow, me still not know how. lol

You need to fix the bridge with the Hydraulic fluid, then go the the base there to get synthetic fibers.

Add some bulkhead reinforcement to your base, as well as build a bioreactor to increase your power supply!!!! Build the Laser Cutter!!!!!! Keep several beacons on your person and mark the locations of the three sunken spacecrafts!!!!!

If you can't make the synthetic fibres yet, what about making the laser cutter and checking out some of those wrecks you found? Also a quick look at the wiki says that Synthetic Fibers are among some of the items found at the Phi Excavation site (where the frozen leviathan is), so you might just be able to use them for the moment.

You can find synthetic fibers from a certain plant. The hunt for the plant is in my comment from last vid but in addition to it you must find the sleeping beast and explore the charted territory where’s the cold is fierce and the research is high

You harvested with the knife instead of grabbing with your hand and You should always make sure to grow some of the plants at your base so you dont have to go back out for anything, i.e. spiral chunks, gel sacks, etc

I just ran in this issue with the synthetic fibers not showing up after getting the chunks. Goto the frozen basin and at the frozen Infected Leviathan I picked up a synthetic fiber and it unlocked the recipe which uses the chunks you picked up. And the chunks do grow they are just very small once you plant them. Anyways hope this helps and loving the let's play - funny this is my first comment ever lol

It’s also a bug you should be able to do this and get the recipe Press F3 and then Return (chat). Type then: unlock aramidfibers. That Admincheat unlocks the Blueprint. So you can "Fix" the Bug. Maybe you must activate the console with F3 and F8 so you can move the mouse and check the Box so you can use cheats.

The spiral plant. You cut it with your knife and that makes it a seed. You should have just picked it.

For Synthetic Fibres try acquiring the item in the Phi Excavation Site next to the Frozen Leviathan. The game should have given it when you gathered the mats for it but maybe bugged.

Reading a thread on the steam forums it seems to be bugged some people get the blueprint from knifing the plant some don't, some get it from scanning the dive suits some don't ect ect. You can "fix" the bug by using a console command to unlock the blueprint.
