Guys this video made me remember my old woodworking shop teacher .. I was very pleased when I found out he loved to fish too when I saw him on the same party boat I worked on , on the weekends .. I later found out he made his own rods in the shop classroom .. we then became fishing buddies ..a little while later he showed me how to make rods myself .. we’d start by getting fiberglass poles .. pick the eyes , and colored string to tie them on .. it was always amazing to watch him work that lathe as he worked that string through his fingers, and would always make amazing designs those crisscrossed X patterns he put on the top and bottom of each eye and the top of the first piece of cork or foam … I haven’t made a rod in over 20 years and most of these were boat poles for deep-sea fishing for blues , fluke or flounder depending on the season .. etc .. but I think it would be fun to watch you guys make your rod from start to finish whatever platform you want to start with I don’t even know what they make rods out of today anymore. It seems like old rods are still working strong and the newer ones snap so easily.. but yeah I wanna see you guys make your own personalized rods.. and I bet all of the viewers would too

I'd be kinda curious to see a 2v2 fishing line challenge to see if the type of line/color really makes that much of a difference. Two guys on team braid, both 50lb, one uses a hi-vis line while the other uses the standard moss green. The two guys on the other team would both use a flourocarbon, one using a lighter line like a 10 lb test while the other guy uses 20 lb. To keep it somewhat fair I think everyone should use a texas rig with the weight, hook and bait choice up to each individual. Or maybe each team gets 3-5 baits and the first team to catch a fish on each lure wins.
