It's insane, prices are way up and riding season is becoming less and less. I use to ride almost 7 months a season in the Sierras because we had the snow. Now, we get half the snow, half the rides, makes no sense to buy a new sled every 2-3 years. Only a few places left in N. America that consistently get good winters, so it seems.

I snowchecked an rmk boost this year, I was split between Polaris and doo but I’ve been looking over the fence from doo for a few years and I decided to try the polaris for my step into turbos. Anyway I was comparing the 155/154, turbo, short tunnel, E start (I think doo would only let me select shot), fancy display. The skidoo was a couple G’s more due to shot start being $1000cad+ and the $2500cad for the new display. The rmk I ordered will be $30k out the door with BC taxes and registered and insured in BC. Only extra options I selected were the mini burandt bag, orange color everything, bumper, skid plate. It’s a lot but if your getting a factory cut tunnel turbo big bore sled then what do you expect.

Everyone hates on Arctic Cat but I'm seeing a lot of comments in here about how sleds need to "go back to being simple". If you haven't noticed, that's exactly what Cat is doing. All the benefits of a modern sled in terms of handling, suspension, and power, but they're still just simple sleds. Mine is just a regular reliable 800cc motor bolted to a durable 153" skid. Nothing fancy, just something simple that actually works. I also think Polaris was doing well with this until about 2 or 3 years ago. The AXYS Pro RMK 850 was a really nice sled when it wasn't super optioned out. But Polaris had the reliability problem. Either way, I think a lot of people are gonna start switching to Cat soon

People think the prices are going up, in reality the currency is worth less each and every year. Inflation in the real sense is more accurately running between 12% and 15%. It's not that manufacturers are making more $, their margins are thin. I also agree we are at the end of snowmobiles as we know it. I have been sledding for +50 years, they are better than ever today I may or may not pick up a new one from the showroom later this year, no turbo, if there are any. You youngsters have the best days of snowmobiling and the worst ( prices too much to justify ). If you payed 21k for a powder special in 98, you were obviously shopping in a high vis vest.... pick me ,pick me!

If you factor in dealer fees, taxes, and interest on the financing you might be pushing 40k lol. That's without any aftermarket parts either ...

30k on a stupid snowmobile is ridiculous lol I could see you spending that on a truck but not a snowmobile 🤣 it will still depreciate and break just as fast as a cheap snowmobile.

Who the hell would even pay that for a sled and it will be junk in 5 years. Most I paid for a sled was 12400 out the door for my backcountry. In 2012 I paid 8500 for my renegade that was brand new.

$30000 for a sled, absolute stupity. I find anymore instead of giving us a good track they give you a 10 screen. Really who cares. Your riding in a bush. How about something we can afford. Helmet face shields don't last snowmobile suits don't last $65000 trucks $10000 plus trailers to put on 2500km in a good season for the average rider. Just crazy

They're literally asking what I make in a year after taxes for a sled that I can ride 3-4 months a year lol

Electric sucks. Snowmobile trails aren't open half as often as they use to be. Winters dying wether or not it's global warming or what ever. Electric vehicles aren't going to save this planet. Every ones buying ATVs because you rode the.year round sort of ( plow snow) Or buying themselves a nice shiny new truck. And staying away from the toys . Because they can't afford anything else. And Gas is NOT ... Going to get cheaper. PERIOD. It's only going to get more expsenive from here on. Once my sled dies I'm over it. And electric sucks !

Crazy price killing sport or there gonna sell the electric sled at lower price so people buy them so they can phase out gas engines
