Great times lay ahead of us 🙂 You mentioned painting the walls of the new lego room blue. Maybe adding some clouds? There is Bob Brickman with is LEGO-City (and Museum) on KZbin who added clouds to the blue walls of his room. It looks much better than a plain wall. I think he even made a "How to"-Video.

Excellent progress on 2.0, it’s a great space. I do have an idea to throw at you. When you make your standing hole areas make them rectangular (big enough for you to fit in easily), then over the top surface with blue Lego base plates on plywood (to simulate water) and put a wooden lip around the underside of the opening, so that you can remove it when you need to, but otherwise it’s covered by a water area, thus making the Lego room more seamless and continuous. Just a thought. Cheers Mate 😬👍🇨🇦
@RobinHoodBricks
@RobinHoodBricks 4 ай бұрын
That assumes one level all around each standing hole. Currently I have ground, sea and underground levels all around the same hole so it wouldn't work well. I like the idea though!
@MrPolleyr
@MrPolleyr 4 ай бұрын
@@RobinHoodBricks ……if all (or most) your underground scenes were located on the perimeters of your city, than the standing holes could be at table (or baseplate) height. Underground senses will be a lot easier to view and record on the edges of your setup rather than in the middle. Don’t forget….the layout is much bigger and views will be farther away. In the end my friend, it is your city and your vision. You know best. I am, as always, very excited what your amazing city will reveal in the days ahead. All the best from Canada 😍🙏👍🇨🇦
@liammcgrane4433
@liammcgrane4433 4 ай бұрын
I know this is probably completely far-fetched, especially as you are likely set in how the tables and standing holes will work, but have you considered 'mobile shelving'. With a fresh start, its a way to have a full contiguous city, and then when you need to access further in you can move the shelves (slowly!) to create an aisle. Haha, its a lot of work and you might just prefer climbing under the tables (if ain't broke...). Anyway, super excited to see the progress!
@RobinHoodBricks

The first issue I see with that is having train tracks over all sections which isn't as easy as a simple drag back into position, sadly. The track connections are not flat, quite firm and very necessary for obvious reasons. It would be great if it worked though or if I didn't have trains!

When my parents moved into their current house, one of the first things they did was turn the garage into a study/library for my dad. They still had two cars that they were using at the time, but we had a driveway that the cars lived on, rather than them going in the garage. The top half of the wall where the garage door was on is now a window, but we also kept the person-sized door

Something I meant to ask on your last video but forgot, and i'm not sure if you've answered this yet, but what's the plan with the actual city? Will you be moving it "as-is" into the new room and adding to it, or will it be a rebuild of the city from the ground up, a total reorganisation of street and track layouts? Do you plan to show your "planning" for the layout of the new city area? Will you be using any particular software to aid with it?

I will be sharing this part of the process too but I don't know yet how much will be a literal transfer. Favourite areas will definitely come across but maybe next to new neighbours. And improvements throughout!

I was bit surprised that you didn’t put any windows in the room. I’d expected that you would have put windows instead of the garage doors with maybe roller shutters to control the light for filming. Dual or triple pane windows would also have kept the noise out and insulation. Anyway very cool that you’ll have a lot of space for Brick Nottingham 2.0.

I'll double check but I thought baseplates were 10" or 25.4cm. A quick Google suggests this is a tiny bit under but I don't know the final room dimensions yet anyway. I do know it's not uniform throughout. And the last room was 17.8 baseplates wide or something. I'll manage!
