the reason for electric types being nuerodivergint is because of the Japanese phrase denpa (電波) which means "electromagnetic-wave". however it has been used since the 90's to refer to people who are quirky, airheads, or neruo-spicy

@F14thunderhawk14 күн бұрын
@@vtubermissingno no, Electric Terrain basically implicitly needs Tapu Koko or Tapu Miraidon to be useful. Its not like how you basically should have Peliper and Politoad on a water team or an ice team is literally inviable without both Aurorus and Alolan Ninetales to set up snow and aurora veil in the same turn. Electrics need to be dancing between pokemon, and giving your opponent a turn to set up is a mistake unless you have Ironhands - Bellydrum or Eelectross Coil on your last slot.
@MegaStoudemire12 күн бұрын
@@vtubermissingno If you need to use a move to setup terrain, you are better off not using the terrain at all. All terrains and weathers coming from moves are completely pointless when you can set them easier with an ability, specially now that terrain ends and you will need to set it up again, losing you another turn. This is even more true when we talk about 1v1 battles (which majority of the gym leaders are) where terrain and weather have less of an impact than in 2v2 battles.

I will put the % next to each move, meaning how common a move is. Data is from pikalytics. Klefki: Reflect 95.305%, Light Screen 81.412%, Dazzling Gleam 76.860%, Thunder Wave 68.264%, Magic Room 28.251%, Foul Play 18.673%, Misty Terrain 16.849%. 7th move with less than 20%, meaning rarely used. Whimsicott: Tailwind 98.474%, Moonblast 88.267%, Encore 80.876%, Light Screen 9.546%, Protect 22.122%, Fake Tears 13.814%, Sunny Day 9.730%. Less than 10%, again, not used at all. Tornadus: Tailwind 97.110%, Bleakwind Storm 85.450%, Rain Dance 57.272%, Protect 39.196%. First top 4 of a weather move here, with a bit above 50%. Thundurus: Eerie Impulse 78.852%, Thunder Wave 68.948%, Wildbolt Storm 6.521%, Taunt 38.949%, Rain Dance 33.407%. Close to top 4, with a 30%. Grimmsnarl: Light Screen 88.499%, Reflect 87.971%, Thunder Wave 70.106%, Spirit Break 52.417%, Foul Play 36.580%, Parting Shot 17.030%, Fake Out 8.813%, Taunt 8.729%, Misty Terrain 7.725%. Not even close. Murkrow: Tailwind 99.684%, Foul Play 86.357%, Quash 64.627%, Protect 38.561%, Haze 29.088%, Sunny Day 17.811%. 6th choice wiht a low % As we can see in the data, there's a trend in all this mons. Tailwind setters, disrupting moves and screen setters. Those are the most use cases for the prankster mons. Those are staple. Weather moves are below 20% in most cases, with one exception on Tornadus. Saying it's a staple in prankster mons is straight up false and the data does not back your claim up. In conclusion, you'd rather set up terrain with an ability, that starts inmediatly (which means you can use it by switching) than used a turn setting it up, a turn you could use to set up a screen, tailwind or disrupt your opponent.

If you're going to use Rotom for an electric gym, I think you're doing it a disservice by not letting it have its pick of forms. I know that feels a little unfair, but several electric leaders have had their gyms in areas with lots of electronics or devices, and Rotom getting to pick its form feels like a fun extra challenge, like the gym where you have to go up against the type your starter was weak to or something. That being said, doubling up on status by using pokemon like Dedenne or Oricorio to inflict confusion on top of paralysis would be a lot of fun. Neat team composition. I got a potential rock team. Do let me know about any changes I need to make: 1. Glimmora: stealth rock, mortal spin, earth power, energy ball. Focus sash with toxic debris. Meant to be the lead and set up stealth rock and potentially toxic spikes to lay down a bunch of rubble to hinder opposing teams 2. Tyranitar: knock off/crunch, stone edge, earthquake, fire punch. Choice band with sand stream. Meant to set up sand to bolster the team’s special defense while hitting like a truck 3. Hisuian Arcanine: flair blitz, head smash, extreme speed, close combat/morning sun. Rock head with either choice band for close combat or heavy duty boots for morning sun. Meant to hit fast and hard and serve a counter to steel and grass types 4. Garganacl: recover, salt cure, body press, iron defense. Purifying salt with leftovers. Meant to be a wall/mountain for challengers to overcome without bolstering its defenses, healing from damage, and chipping away at their health and dealing super effective damage to water types 5. Cradily: giga drain, toxic, recover, mirror coat/protect. Storm drain with leftovers. Also me ant to wall enemies and whittle them down with toxic and recover hp with giga drain and leftovers. Also provides counters for water, grass, and ground. Plus I wanted to include some fossil Pokémon for representation 6. Aerodactyl: dragon dance, dual wingbeat, stone edge, earthquake. Pressure will h heavy duty boots. As the ace, it’s meant to set up and defeat any remaining enemies that should be weakened by now. It’s flying stab and typing provides counters for ground, grass, and fighting types and also serves to represent fossil Pokémon

The Bellibolt section fails to mention two key moves that help it become unkillable against a lot of things: parabolic charge and chilling water. Parabolic charge with electromorphosis gives you crazy sustain and essentially walls most things, since you heal back any damage you took to power yourself up. Their low to average speed isn't the biggest deal in the world when your opponent is webbed and possibly para'd. But, in it, I decide to turn my Shinx, Coda, into a gym leader, and this is an opportunity to think about it in depth. *This is my first time theory crafting a team, please no bullying.* Now, one thing that would have to remain is his ties to the sea. I think he would lean Electric types, and just kind of nod and agree if anyone calls him an Electric type trainer, because he really doesn't want to talk to people that aren't close friends for too long. He'd dress in Luxray colors, and Luxray would be his lead. He would even have wild black hair, but that's because he doesn't really brush it. It looks fine, so he doesn't care. He would have a Lanturn with Volt Switch in case that ends up being a bad lead. If Lanturn stays, they will set up Substitute, and then trap you with Whirlpool. They will also hit you with Confuse Ray, for even more passive damage. And with Leftovers and a high HP stat, this is the first wall trainers would have to deal with, as well as the emotional wall of Coda describing this set as how he feels whenever he sees the horrible state the world is in and how little he can help all on his own. Between Volt Absorb and Water Absorb, I lean Volt Absorb, due to not really expecting a challenger to use Water Types in an Electric Gym. Next, we have Electross. No weaknesses, but frail. Like Lantrun, they come from the sea, so they were bound to make it here. They'll run Wild Charge, because spoiler alert, they don't run Coil here. They'll also run Hex to take advantage of any Paralysis that might be upon you. Close Combat can go here too, just for being strong. Sure, it lowers their defenses, but it's more of a panic button than anything. For the last move, Liquidation, since Lanturn's Water STAB is more about the trapping effect than the move's power. I'm giving them Assault Vest in hopes they might take hits better. That's why it's all attacking moves. This next Pokémon is more symbolic than anything. Ampharos. You know, like the one in the lighthouse? By the sea? Yeah, you get it. They can run Rain Dance, to make Thunder ignore accuracy checks, meaning you can kiss your evasion strats goodbye. They'll also run Volt Switch in case they need Lanturn to tank boosted Water Type moves. But, with Zap Cannon and Blunder Policy, the goal is to not let that happen. But the base speed of Ampharos is 55, so, I don't know if that will actually help too much. Also. the ability is Static. Even if I were to run a double battle, I wouldn't have anyone to trigger Plus. Pincurchin would have Electric Surge. They would also have Electric Terrain just in case you try and get rid of the Electric Terrain, and you'll see why this is so important. Zing Zap is a good physical stab move, relatively, that also may cause the challenger's Pokémon to flinch (30% Chance). I'll throw in Thunder Wave and Pain Split too. Bad HP stat, but defenses are alright. I could probably use a screen setter other than the next Pokémon, but too late, I already spent like an hour on this at least. You think I knew Zing Zap was a move before I started this project of a comment? Guess again, encyclopedia. I just learned about it. I needed online resources for each and every goober on this team. I wrote an entire paragraph on Bellibolt, but that's not Oceanic. So, Alolan Raichu. I'm getting lazy at this point, so, it has the only ability that it has, Surge Surfer. It's gonna know Psychic and Electro Ball, and it's also going to set up Light Screen and Reflect. It doesn't really have the bulk to consistently set up screens, but hopefully you're still dealing with paralysis, and Electric Terrain would indeed be in effect, ideally. That's why Pincurchin has an ability and a move that do the same thing. This tubular mouse dude needs the speed increase, not only for Electro Ball, but also to set up screens before you damage it. The item? Hmm... This isn't a very good item, but Shell Bell is thematic, and can potentially do a lot of healing, considering Electro Ball. But... I'm thinking I'll choose Wise Glasses instead. So not only is Electric Terrain boosting their speed, but their attacks will do a little more damage. And finally, because Coda is usually a Shinx... Or a white cat with electric abilities but we don't have time to get into that. Anyway, Luxray, the Ace. I'm going to go with an Intimidate set, with Wild Charge, Trail Blaze, Substitute, and Agility. The idea here is to take advantage of either Raichu's screens, Confuse Ray, or Paralysis to keep the Substitute from fading too fast too often. Trail Blaze can raise speed too, while also being a Ground and Water counter. They can hold a Muscle Band. This can probably help them out most if something unfortunate happens to Raichu. And that's my attempt at uh, a highly specific character under a highly specific universe, I guess. I know I probably made a lot of bad decisions, but when have gym leaders every been consistently good? You see, it's okay if this isn't a good team. 5 ocean themed Pokémon and one cat Coda really likes makes for a heck of a challenge getting them all to fit under one type and working together with synergy. Did I do alright, ShepskyDad? Should Pincurchin be setting up entry hazards? Should Shell Bell be used on Luxray for pure vibes alone? Feel free to tell me everything I did wrong, and that's about it.

6 Rotom? Hey, I'm running that in Elite Redux right now! The Pikaclones are another one of those "gets buffed in every ROM Hack" category. Elite Redux Plusle and Minun annihilate most of the game with *Speed Boost and Competitive/Defiant* as innates (only really faltering against Trick Room), and Odyssey Plusle and Minun are worthy starters. My own old fangame writeup is no different; Plus gets switched to a defensive boost and Plusle gets a supportive set to match, and both abilities get bigger numbers to make them worth running. The two are on a *postgame team,* as the League challenge ends up being postgame due to plot. Our Electric gym leader is an extremely enthusiastic DJ; he got told his Plusle and Minun weren't any good and trained them just to try to prove people wrong. Since he's postgame, he's got fewer restrictions on teambuilding. What I had written down for his highest difficulty team: -Tapu Koko w/Life Orb (U-Turn/Supercell Slam/Wave Crash/Ice Punch) -Minun w/ Air Balloon (Fake Out/Nasty Plot/Rising Voltage/HP Ice) -Plusle w/ Leftovers (Cheering/Follow Me/Rising Voltage/Thunder Wave) -Iron Hands w/ Leftovers (Close Combat/Ice Punch/Supercell Slam/Volt Switch) -Alolan Raichu w/ Electric Seed (Calm Mind/Stored Power/Rising Voltage/Dazzling Gleam) -Toxtricity w/ Toxtricitite (Overdrive/Psychic Noise/Sludge Bomb/Shift Gear) "Cheering" would give the ally +1 Atk/SpA, essentially being a weaker Decorate. The idea is pretty straightforward: switch in Plusle with a U-Turn, give Minun time to Plot up, and go ham. If Minun drops, Plusle can support the rest of the team, and Toxtricity runs Plus before going Mega to potentially get a free boost while Plusle or Minun is still up. (Ampharos was tempting, but repurposing Toxtricity's G-Max form as a Mega is too good a fit for a DJ, and the Dragon leader is still open.)

What i'd wish that we would have a series of videos where the gym video teams fight eachother to see how good they fare atself and against maybe types that resist or that they should be stronger to That would make it fun

Man, we really need a custom rom featuring all these gym leaders (and eventual elite 4?) when you got through with it.

It would be really cool if you could add how your Gym would look like for the specific type, where it would be. I really enjoy the videos. My gym would be a ghost type gym :)

Absolutely loved this team! Fluffy monstrousity strikes yet again (I'm not talking about Gargancula)!

I think a decent honorable mention would be Pawmot, one of the few physical electric Pokemon that can get decent usage out of Thunder Punch with its Iron Fist ability and the Punching Glove as a held item, giving Thunder Punch a base power of 97.5 instead of just 75. Pair that with Close Combat, Ice Punch (for Ground types, which is also boosted by Iron Fist and Punching Glove) and Revival Blessing (to heal a fainted team member) and you have a pretty good physical option for the team (which is a rarity for the type). Then again, if Pawmot ends up on the Fighting team, then never mind.

I mostly played Emerald and now play an Emerald ROM, and I’ll knew what the last move had to be. I used Volt Tackle to OHKO the Champion’s Wailord and Milotic. It’s kind of stupid how busted it is. Also, for the Psychic team don’t forget about Wobbuffet. It’s a funny Mon to trip up someone who doesn’t know what it is; since it’s from Jhoto and you put it on newer Gen Psychic team the trainers would be absolutely flabbergasted.

it'd be funny to have an Electric Gym where the Gym Leader entirely uses Pika-clones, but it's like the best possible sets those things could have, and their ace is Pawmot. Pawmot and Alolan Raichu would carry their own weight, and Morpeko and Togedemaru would do okay, but then you'd basically just have Pachirisu there to be a nuisance with Nuzzle and Super Fang. Emolga is probably the best option left, as Plusle and Minun are worthless.

Naturally we're moving to my favorite type after this one! Ground Type, and hopefully I see my baby Gastrodon on the team

Thank you for 7:13, the jumpscare has informed me of my PTSD about marvel rivals comp (can we just agree to team up on the stupid spider thing, like even her teammates ignore her so enemy can bully her all game?)

I know it's way too early, but i want a final episode of the series where you choose one teracristal Pokémon for each gym leader, one that doesn't match the type, but matches the spirit of the team. Like an honorary x type
