I've only done a little bit of testing for it, but it still appears to help quite a bit. The only changes I've seen them make is a lower default swappiness (60 vs 100, which is still too high IMO), and higher CPU performance. Since CU typically deals with memory, it's still providing benefits 🙂 Thanks for watching!

It's cute. What I use is a steam deck portable dock. That clips onto the back of the deck. Then I use a usbC 180° adapter and I can place all 3 into the deck's case like a single unit. Then for extra power I use a 20k mah 65w baseus battery bank with a 6" C to C cable. I have both Velcro and a strap that holds the battery and with this added 78wh battery and the decks 40wh battery I can easily and comfortably carry around the deck and play at full brightness full speed and play for close to 5 to 6 hours before needing to plug in. And I always have a extra 2 USB A ports HDMI and usbC ports. Total cost on Amazon is 18 for dock 11 for 90° angle 4 for Velcro 50 for battery. Total of 73 Or other methods $9 for dock on aliE $3 90° on ali $0.92 on ali for Velcro $22 for baseus battery on eBay Total where I bought them from was $24.92

What was the game latency experience on the cheap lil projector? Would like to see yah with a portable battery solution to be totally off grid. What screen did yah use for the projector? What controllers were used to play with friends? This review seemed really rushed. Nice fire, did you cook anything or roast marsh mellows?
@cryobyte33
@cryobyte33 11 ай бұрын
Sorry that it felt that way, it was meant to highlight the Ugreen products more than the projector, so I didn't do too much testing on that. The screen is a decades-old screen that my brother had in his barn, and I've used the setup more without the screen than with, so I hadn't thought to include it. My normal setup is on-the-wall, which is how I figured most would use it, but perhaps I didn't convey that as well as I could have :( Then controllers were supposed to be "whatever you want", for us it was Nintendo Switch controllers and a Dualsense that we had lying around. The Dualsense will get a video of its own soon. I'd have also liked a battery, but didn't have one available, plus it would add to weight so I went single-outlet instead. As for the fire, we didn't roast any marshmallows.

Hey cryo great vid as always. I love that particular portable projector as well. Random question, would you ever consider a video about latency with steam inputs using the built in frame limiter, "allow tearing", in-game frame limiters, and in game vsync, and combos of those items, to see how we can generally keep input latency low while maintaining good frame times? I see a lot of debate on it on reddit but no good answers. Either way though, loving the content.

I plan to sometime soon, but SteamOS 3.5 has pulled my attention a bit. Thanks for your patience while I work through the backlog, and for watching!

Really good content! I'm living in the EU and I can't seem to find most of these products available unfortunately. Naturally I could purchase them on Amazon US, I'm just wondering if there is any solution for the plug? Some sort of adapter or anything to be able to use them here. Would definitely purchase a bunch of these to my family as gifts and for myself as well.😅

I just checked with my Ugreen rep and they said that EU plug versions should be coming soon, they're just awaiting certification. If you still want one in the meantime, I personally used this exact adapter while living in Sweden: amzn.eu/d/gis6Z4k Thank you for watching, sorry that EU versions don't exist yet!

@@cryobyte33 Thanks so much for asking Ugreen directly and for the adapter idea, really appreciate it. 🙂 I've also sent a message to their support mailbox about compatibility and to express my willingness to purchase these products, great news that they are already on their way to the EU market. 🥳 I'll probably wait for the official products, hopefully they'll arrive before Christmas so I can purchase them as gifts, I'm sure that many female members of my family and friends would love these small robots. 😂 Cheers

Hey Cryo! Random question: Does charging the Steam Deck over night, as a routine practice (i.e. every night), damage its battery? Thank you for all the marvelous work you are doing (I just discovered you and subscribed), and I am looking forward to your reply!

Thank you for watching the videos and subscribing! Technically keeping anything on the charger after it's reached more than about 90% will lower the life of the battery. I've been looking at a way to set a battery limit to prevent that wear and tear, but haven't had the time to come up with anything solid yet. My recommendation is to charge it to 80-90% and then shut the deck down if you want to keep the battery in perfect health. That said, I've been charging my original deck nightly for over a year now and still have about 87% battery life, so it's not a huge deal if you don't.
