In this step-by-step build video I continue the Porsche 934 RSR "Jagermeister" by assembling the engine, chassis and applying a lot of decals.

I really felt your pain with the decales on the fenders. I went through the same with my Martini Porsche 934.

Ya, I'm sure it was because I was using the Micro Set solution and it softened the decals too much before I could get them where I wanted them, which I didn't think it would. Ahh those learning moments.

I actually get a bit apprehensive when it’s time to do decals! I’m not sure why… I’m getting ready to do this build in a day or so. When I saw those little rivets on that thin black panel divider I thought oh great! But I’ll take it easy on the softening solution, maybe just use plain water. Other than that, your Porsche looks awesome!

I still get apprehensive with decals. Quick way to screw up a good paint job. With those rivet decals I would just go with plain water as you said. You might could add one drop of soap to your warm water just to add a little more lubricity. Anyway, good luck with those decals.

@@ScaledDownCustoms thanks! I’ll let you know how it goes!

@@ScaledDownCustoms I don’t know if you recall our conversation regarding the decal for the Porsche 934? The one about how it gave you some grief and your advice was to not use any softening solution. Well I used straight water and it actually worked! They fought me the whole time, but I took my time and was VERY gentle with how I manipulated them and they went on really well. I’ve got the Vaillant Porsche on the shelf, so I’ll employ the same process for that one as well! Thanks for the good advice, and showing that even professional builders find similar challenges as the most of us!

Looking good so far! I agree with you not to strip the paint again; not sure what the quality of this plastic is like but I have had plastic turn rubbery or twist into a pretzel when stripping paint! I normally use Pine Sol disinfectant for that purpose. It works but you need to be careful with it. How effective is the product you use and have you had any such issues?
@ScaledDownCustoms4 жыл бұрын
I use Isopropyl alcohol to strip my paint. I have never had an issue with it damaging the plastic. Check out my video on that below. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJa0oaaVl6d2n5I

nice build i have this kit i'm going to start it soon.what brand of spray booth are you using
@ScaledDownCustoms4 жыл бұрын
I am using the 15x20 standard spray booth from Micro Mark. Prior to using this one I was using the Micro Mark fold-up spray booth which is a great booth.

Hello, can you tell me the measurement between axles? I want to adapt that body to the slot and I would like to find a suitable chassis. I would also like you to tell me the width of the body measured inside, from door to door. Thanks a lot
