Panzer 1.7.3 beta was the last version with good world generation kinda dissapointed he used 1.8 for beta, that was the biggest mistake minecraft made. took a year of updates for the game to no longer be a mess of unfinished content and half assed ideas. I feel like people don't remember how absolutely awful enchanging, the end, potions, xp, worldgen and comat were during those dark ages.

That led me to finding images of old tall chimneys and finding explanations of pressure differentials and draw and how houses used to have taller chimneys because they more effectively draw air which is essential for older fireplaces and open fires. Turns out a tall chimney is realistic afterall. (As long as it's in an old style) Although, is it realistic to have a chimney but no fireplace? 🤔

The simplicity of Alpha and Beta will always have a special place in my heart. I don't really play much Minecraft these days, and even though I find all the new modern additions cool, the older version of the game will always be true Minecraft to me. The nostalgia, man. Edit: Dude, the old music too... such a shame that they changed it. I really don't like modern MC's soundtrack honestly.

I didn't play Alpha, but from what I saw in the video, I don't think the speed of mining increased with tool quality. It seemed like it just increases durability of the tool. If you watch, it took the same amount of time to break those cobblestone stairs with the diamond pickaxe.

I started playing MC Alpha for the first time way back in July 2010, damn that was a long time ago. And I still play MC sometimes but far less than for example 6 or 5 yrs ago. Btw I still revisit my old Alpha and Beta worlds every now and then. And I think i prefer the old versions. Why, can you ask? Because I really miss the simplicity of the game and it's unknowns and facing all the good things and the bad things for the first time, not knowing how to craft stuff and all that, and either googling it or figuring it out myself.
