Brilliant videos. You make them very clear and enjoyable to watch, especially for an amateur like myself. Probably the best build videos on KZbin. Thanks for making them. Ben

Love the series! A bit more light on the milling table may be helpful :-D

Hi Ron you are doing well with your project next time you use your sandpaper wet it out with a small bit of 3in1 or other very light machine oil it will work much better for you

your mini mill is very quiet! mine screams and I hate to use it if I don't have to. did you do a belt drive conversion?

Hi Ron, interesting video, nice to see a complete engine build step by step, have a small "Tich" Loco, that I will be rebuilding, bought it off Ebay roughly three quarters built, I notice you have the same milling machine as mine, seems that a lot of people use these and get excellent results, unfortunately mine is a bit crispy now as I had a fire in the garage that destroyed everything, garage has been rebuilt and slowly getting everything back together, will be doing a video of the rebuild over time, what camera do you use, Regards Doc Cox.

Sorry to hear about the fire. I've been really happy with the LMS mill. I'm thinking about getting their bed extension for the lathe, as the standard bed is really limiting. The camera is a Canon Vixia HF R600. With good lighting it shoots decent HD video, and it's under $300.

Amigo a bit of advice, clean your mill table before you set up for the next cut.

Eeww I cringed when you put those 123 blocks down on that pile of chips.

If the bottom isn’t rocking on the surface plate, I wouldn’t even touch it. You just milled the top with the bottom clamped to the table. If those two surfaces aren’t parallel there is something wrong with your machine.

WTF!!! when you are placing a part on the mill table, CLEAN THE TABLE and 1-2-3 plates before clamping it down!!!
@JasperJanssen7 жыл бұрын
J.C. Stephenson not a huge deal for this piece, since the worst that can happen is it not quite being parallel, which is not a real problem. But in general, that'd be better practice, yeah.

What's up with the "wtf" ? Keep it nice!
@davemunch9997 жыл бұрын
A word of warning. Don't check for smoothness of the piece after machining by rubbing it with your finger. The edges will be as sharp as a great white's teeth and just as nasty.
