I love this game. It's so relaxing.

and yet..so stressfull once your villagers start dying left and right and you dont have any births, but then you have a sudden baby boom and then they all starve cause you couldnt prepare the crops accordingly..AAAAAGGHHHHH

In my village im convinced that everyone is eating eachoder because of the lacking food. So i'd say its pretty relaxing.

Flabaliki the only mod for Banished you really need to get is the current version of Colonial Charter. Colonial Charter is not only like your standard mod you find for most games Colonial Charter is more like the real version of Banished or like an official expansion with way more buildings, more extensive production lines, more products, way more options overall, maps, basically more of everything( and as far as i know this mod was even developed with the original developer somehow involved). Flabaliki i promise you when you get this mod you really will understand why people say banished colonial charter it the real full version of this game.

When you do decide to get mods, try the Colonial Charter mod.. without it the game is very basic. CC mod just expands upon what is already there. Also, I've found that 9x13 is a good size for fields. around 800 produce per and the farmers usually keep up just fine.

9x13 is one farmer.. I have had to add a second farmer temporarily on the short seasons tho to finish the harvest. Sometimes it gets cold earlier.

I'm surprised he didn't take it up for this LP. :/ CC makes the game so colourful and even more enjoyable to play. I really love the trader's post exclusive for livestock. No more "oh it's yet another smuggler".

I would suggest instead of only building houses in your town, als o build a few, like 1 or 2, next to the hunting cabin/wood cutter/gatherer (all the building that need to be in a forest) and if you build a lot of houses (which I think you are doing) you will either get a lot of people really fast or none at all, since the game normally tries to fill all houses. I have done the same thing and needed so much food that I couldn't support my people anymore, I hope this won't happen to you. Apart from that, I'm loving the episode, hope you do more!!

Beachdudeca until you start running out of resources on the map, and eventually everyone is down to using sticks for tools and naked and starts starving because they are so much worse at everything without tools.

It's funny, I've always built wells because it's supposed to help with fires but I've never seen one or had one in my game, I was starting to think making a well was pointless

I always found 11x11 to be the most effective, since you can employ one farmer and get nearly full yield. It’s a good idea to have a road around every farm as well since it increases the likelihood that all crops will be harvested by early winter.

Can I recommend building a barn and a stockpile where your forresters/hunters buildings are as well as an additional gatherers hut, as then your workers will only need to dump their goods in those areas, they will become more effective in their work, and all your laborers have to do is then bring the goods there to your other barn or if you then remove that barn you can build a market place in the center of town, what do you think?

James just a suggestion make a marketplace. The villagers are selfish in this game, market stops them from being selfish. It shares the product made by the villagers. You can also make the early game hunting cabin and the tree foliage combo.

Love it! Definetely want to see more of banished. Anyway, you placed the forester pretty close to the herbalist. Doesn't the herbalist find herbs near older trees? Because the forester might ruin the amount of herbs to find.

Foresters keep a nice balance of trees in their zone so there are usually plenty of older trees to support herb and food growth. I usually have hunter/gatherer/forester with an herbalist just outside the circle so more accessible to the villagers when they need herbalist services, but right next to the collection zone. :)

I never start with farms ;). I always start with gathering / forester and fishing if possible , then build a wood cutter then spam homes. :)

I use a 16x16 field size, I build my roads first and put the fields in right away. Build two storage plots, and prioritize clearing the fields. Don't put up the event log, it's useless.
