Watching this in 2023... REALLY makes me appreciate the kind of ITX cases we have today, great step by step for the time though, but wow has a lot changed in 7 years! Also great review of the Fractal Terra, can't wait to get one 👌👌

Hi, nice video. That Corsair RM850i psu is redundant for this mini itx build. A 500w or 600w psu would've sufficed. 😉
@fishscalecocaine8 жыл бұрын
This video was sponsored by the company who made the PSU. They just sent it to his house, I don't really think he had a choice to choose though.
@PcCentric8 жыл бұрын
So this PSU was used for the Skylake build (see channel), which ran dual GPUs. Rather than ask for the same PSU but in a lower wattage, I used the one I had on hand. The 650w version would be a way to save an extra bit of cash. Hope this clears this up! :)

Great build, but I would change one thing. You have 2 exhaust fans and 1 intake fan, which is creating negative pressure in the case. The negative pressure will cause a lot of dust build-up. Change the 2 exhaust fans and make them intake, and change the radiator fan into an exhaust fan. This will creative positive pressure, and there will be less dust build-up. Thanks for the video.

+Ivo Broz Interesting thought. Don't forget about fan speeds, and the GPU though, which will draw air into the case too.

I just built a PC for a friend of mine who's finally come over from console to PC... He always played on console because he like's to play on a TV from his lounge with a controller and he didn't want a big chassis... He then later came over and I showed him his options for cases (he picked the 250D) and that he can play PC on a TV with a controller. The specs are; * Corsair Obsidian 250D (Same as in the video) * EVGA Z170 Stinger * Intel Core i5 6600 * EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC Gaming * Corsair Hydro Series H80i v2 Liquid CPU Cooler * 16GB G.Skill Trident DDR4 @ 3200Mghz * 240GB Kingston HyperX Savage SSD * 2TB Wester Digital Black * Corsair RM550x Modular 80 Gold Plus PSU and a Wireless Xbox One Elite Controller! :D +1 to the Master Race! ^_^

1. The fan grill is not made to avoid cables entering the fan, it's made to prevent turbulence, reducing fan noise. 2. A radiator at the air intake is stupid, hot air is coming in, should be placed as exhaust.

Remove the cover? You whot? It slips off if you place the cpu in.
@lachiu18 жыл бұрын
***** If I were you I wouldn't even try to remove that black cover since it will pop off if you put the cpu in just because you can damage the pins while removing the black piece.

Excellent video. Are you able to give a rough total build cost (UK£)? Also is wifi capability built in on this build or is it an extra peripheral? Excuse these novice questions.
@PcCentric8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Wifi is on the motherboard - attach the included antennae. Total cost was around the £1600 mark I believe, including Windows, but without peripherals.

nice. The VGA is an overkill though :) Do you know the Fractal Node 304 case? It is a bit similar, why did you chose this one ?
@PcCentric8 жыл бұрын
So I was originally after the Corsair 380T, but Corsair were unable to source one. I've been meaning to try the 250D for a while though, hence why it's here. Will check out the Fractal for sure though!

+PC Centric Check this out too. Silverstone RVZ02. Nice case. Perfect for living room gaming.
@zeus11178 жыл бұрын
Aris Affandy As far as i know that silverstone case is not only mITX, but it cant even house full size components, like ATX PSU or full size GPU. Without those, you are making some sacrifices..mainly in noise and temperatures...I have built one PC in a Fractal Node 202, which is kind of similar, but you only get it to work with a small PSU -> smaller and louder fans, generally hotter and louder, and a small form factor card: i had the gtx 970 mini. The performance was like 90% of the normal sized one, but man it was loud and warm like hell. Never again. This case, and some similar ones offer a small footprint while letting you use full size of those 2 components. Even decent tower cooler if you wish. mITX boards are as great as the big ones, some ports less but that is about it. I myself have the one from this video. Excellent.

nah, try your hand on Thermaltake Core V1, beats all the cube itx case on market.
@93SupaFly8 жыл бұрын
thats why you must buy SFX-L psu from Silverstone which use traditonal atx fan, not SFX, and a itx size gpu or R9 nano? lol. Going small is expensive but thats the main point of going small. Small yet powerful.

It is recommended to use a blower-style Fan cooled graphics card in such a small case.
@sravans51007 жыл бұрын
I heard you shouldnt use aftermarket cards in mini itx cases is it true in this case?
@turke66637 жыл бұрын
If you have a smaller more restricted case, the a reference GPU will probably be better as it will exhaust all its hotair out the case right away. This case is large enough that isn't not much a problem

I had an msi motherboard before and msi has this update center that checks all things that need to be updated...so i dont have to download every single software from msi page...Now though i updated my pc to an 6600K with an asus pro gaming ATX ( not the mini one that u have) and i have to download manually all the updates...Does Asus have similar update center like msi?
