In this video, we're building a modern sleeper PC in an AOpen HQ45 Pro case. Sleeper PCs are all about blending in with their surroundings while packing modern components under the hood.
We start by carefully selecting the components for our build. We want to pack as much power as possible into this small case, while also considering thermals. So we have gone with an Intel Core i3 processor, an NVIDIA 3060TI graphics card, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM.
Next, it's time to get to work on the case itself. The HQ45 Pro case is not large and requires some modifications in order to fit modern components into it. But with some careful planning and a bit of creativity, we're able to make it work.
Once the build is complete, we give it a test run to make sure everything is working as it should. And the results are impressive: this compact sleeper PC packs a punch, with smooth gameplay and fast load times.
Overall, the AOpen HQ45 Pro case is a great looker as a modern sleeper PC build. It's compact, stylish, and with a bit of modification, can accommodate modern components. We where also able to hook the CD-Rom drive and diskdrive with out much problems.

Honestly, it actually has quite a nice 'clean and minimal' look to it on the outside. Looks similar to my first PC back in 2002. The 'upgrade' looks amazing on the inside.

Since it’s an i3 you could’ve went 92 or 120mm air. Going by the comments you were probably better off going with a 120 AIO radiator on the rear then installing a lower intake fan (speaker delete). Your presentation is spot on. In order to get my PATA ODDs to work I used a PCIe to PATA expansion card, and it looks a mess with PATA cables stretched across the motherboard.

Looks great man. I was surprised you didn't drill holes in the front for intake fan, and cut out the bottom of the front case grill. You could use some high static pressure fan and dust filter there to push cool air in.

I think you did a great job with that sleeper. Those ' are awesome and I would like to know where I can get some. The fact that you put in the old school drives and stuff was something really original that I haven't seen very many builders do. I got to say this might be the best sleepover I've seen That isn't on $1,000,000 KZbin channel LOL. Good job

Wow! Great job! 👍 The other day, I found two AOpen cases very similar to what you have shown....Although, the back has two 60mm exhaust fans like the one at 3:28 Think I'll wait until AM5 platform becomes cheaper (and AMD releases Zen 4 based APUs) to turn them into Sleeper PCs.

Very nice job, congratulations 👍 By the way, you can still connect old floppy disk drives to a modern board. I have an internal USB adapter for something like this. Is plugged onto the back of the floppy and then connected to the header. And yes, that even works 😁
