I show you how to assemble miniature windows and doors, and install glass using acetate sheets. I show you how to 3D print and paint your own miniature details, like chairs, tables, cast iron benches. Next, show you how to add working LED lighting to your scale model dioramas, dollhouses, wargaming terrain, model railway scenery, and military WW2 dioramas. I show you how to paint dioramas using spray cans, acrylic paint, acrylic washes, enamel washes, airbrushing. Then, I show you how to paint a brass finish using alclad chrome paints. I show you how to scratchbuild furniture using styrene plastic sheets and strips. After that, I show you how to add architectural details with basswood and balsa wood strips, and dollhouse molding and trim for miniature cornice, baseboard, and more. I show you how to photograph scale models to look realistic in night time lighting, as well as outdoor natural light. I use miniature diecast model cars to add realism in the diorama. I’m still watching but I am taking a second to tell you that I think that your idea about using the spray glue to attach the windows is genius! You’re right, no fingerprints, no glue smudges, just gorgeous!

Thank you so much!! So far the spray glue seems to be holding just fine! I’ve always had trouble with smearing glue on the glass in the past, so this seems to have solved that problem! Thanks for watching!!

That’s genuinely stunning work, I suppose the only other aspect it needs is a few figures. It’s amazing how 3D printing and laser cutting is doing away with so much of the need to scratchbuild, having to make those windows and other intricate pieces by hand would have prevented a lot of people from even attempting something like this. It’s a piece of art.

Thank you for your kind words, and I totally agree about laser cutting and 3D printing! While I love a good scratch build, the repetitive details would have been an inefficient use of time in my opinion. These tools allow makers to design and produce kit quality parts which is why I enjoy using them. Thanks again for the support and for watching!

Maybe a smaller project could be adding the additional details. Would be cool to see the building more fleshed out. maybe an apartment above the restaurant and messy offices above the bank.

That's really cool. Maybe you can go back later on and flesh out the interiors more - they look amazing and would look even more so with the interiors complete. Such a fantastic diorama, though it must take up so much space!

@@smolworldworkshop not a problem. Photographing where the aspect looks to scale is so hard to do. I was thinking of taking a cell phone camera out of a cell phone and setting it on to scale tri pod and see what something like that would look like.

Another master-level diorama, absolutely fantastic work. I am one of those who doesn't mind waiting for projects of this quality, please don't rush anything on my account. I hope in future you can add some interior details! Our local library has a laser cutter and I hope to learn how to use it one day, it would have helped on my current project, for which I had to make two square feet of cardboard shingles LOL. Thanks for all the great projects and tips.

Thank you very much! It’s nice knowing my viewers are okay with me taking my time. I’d love to add some more interior details! Also I’m sure you’ll be able to learn how to use it! It definitely would’ve been amazing for repetitive tasks like shingles! Good luck with your projects!

great build! I always wanted to get into dioramas, having a maker space that can laser print you designs are great, wish I had that by me! As for curling while printing, what are the orientation angle are you printing the flat pieces? usually printing them short side straight up, or at a slight 10-15 degree angle with supports on the back helps with the curling a bit. it doesn't eliminate it completely, but usually printing at a 45 degree angle is good practice for most objects, longer pieces are better printed at a slight angle. it reduces the pull of the FEP during printing. also, try the hot water method when removing supports, it usually helps with the really bad nub marks on the prints

Thank you very much! I hope a Makerspace with a laser opens up near you soon! Recently I’ve been printing my thin flat pieces at a 45 degree angle. I find that it prints well, but then it starts to warp the moment I remove it from the supports, and then it warps even more with a post cure. I’m thinking of maybe weighing down the piece while it’s post curing by putting a flat piece of glass over the print, but I’m not sure if that would work. Also that’s an amazing tip about the warm water! Thanks for sharing, and thanks for watching the video!!
