As a kickstarter backer, i definitely think they should've left this as a private alpha or free demo until they'd fleshed it a bit more. Too many people will get upset about the early state of the game.

Thinking they are going to make it ruch and forgetting they they need to pay bills and a whole host of company stuff BEFORE even touching devs and working time. I support PA and what I saw I loved. Could never get the game to run well and never even touched MP. Never cared for that in ANY rts. Not a sweatlord at all, in that regard. I still think the human resources game looked like it had loads of promise. THIS looks like playing spore WHILE in a match of PA... idfk how it's going to take off but it looks nice.

Now I want someone to make a Satisfactory type game, but for war. First-person factory maker, landing on a planet, consuming its resources to feed the engines of war. Guns, bullets, grenades, missiles, tanks, nuclear bombs, etc. Just imagine those huge Satisfactory builds, but with weapons of mass destruction.

Same developers made a game named Planetary Annihilation a few years ago, they used it as a foundation for this game.

@@Joao-lw5pj I suppose he say "Unsurprisingly" for that. But also because many icons and buildings layout are clearly reprised from Total Annihilation. Some of this devs should be from the original group that made it all from TA, to SupComm and then Planetary A., but the latter was without the master mind genious of Crish Taylor and the senior's designers. I'm hoping this will be in good shape oneday, at the moment seems in very early alpha state.

If you are saying it looks like total annihilation you seem to have missed supreme commander. If you are waiting for this to get good then maybe give that a go while you wait. To this day it's 1 of my favourites. Planetary Annihilation is also pretty similar but you can travel to different planets in the same game though I think that is a cool concept I think it's not as good a game as supreme commander. There is also supreme commander 2 which is a bit more high level than the first 1 and also the story is a lot clearer but I don't find it as fun.

Lots of potential with this one, hopefully devs don't get discouraged by the mixed reviews for the early access. Of course this needs a lot of work but so did PA when it first released and it became one of my favorite RTS.

Mindustry works. This doesn't. Mindustry works because it's incredibly simple to start out. You just need copper flowing into your core and your guns and it works. Meanwhile this needs... half a dozen buildings before you can build basic assault bots. It's so slow and complicated and sprawling on the resource layer that it doesn't work as an RTS In addition, Mindustry's turret focus, especially in the early parts of the campaign, means that a player doesn't have to learn how to play the game and manage their base while also playing an RTS. This, on the other hand, requires you to handle everything all the time. Like, there is a reason Factorio's Rampart mod is a mod and not the base gameplay.

It looks like it could do with a lot of streamlining. Things like auto connections between buildings and conveyors, robo harvesters and haulers that get you a head start on resource collection without needing 3 layers of infrastructure and expansion for basic goods, and maybe an HQ building to add some survive-ability to the start.

Oh boy. I think I'll wait for about a year or so ; I really want to play this new iteration of Blank Annihilation, but I think they started early access way too early. This looks more like a prototype rather than a game.

It'll prob be dead in that time. Didn't this already fail once in kickstarter? It has some nice aesthetics but for a rts style game to micro manage AND setup the component systems... Idk if the 'genre' can handle more than there already is. Maybe if they make it the best for low-micro/high-qol entry into the 'genre'. BUT the other factory builders are too established for this for a LONG time to pull many. But the clunky tech demo proof of concept-ness of this feels WAY too early. Let alone the overcoming the early negative start. THAT will keep most mainstream players away. Unless they can foster and maintain a strong community with a handful of dedicated streamers, it's unlikely to get that momentum.

Feels a bit slow. Think it needs to speed things up somehow. It's very similar to BAR, but the managing of different materials seems to be a lot more intense in this game. In BAR, it's just two from what I remember - electricity and metal. You don't have to connect production to your military buildings either.

LOOKs good. the main thing they need is as much QOL as possible. make everything easy and satisfactory. the game already gives good vibes when you zoom out and see these factories. it needs to feel good though and be easy to use and setup or else the game will quickly be even more niche

After being burned by the KSP2 early access (which IIRC was made by many of the same people as PA), I think I’ll wait a little longer before buying this. I love PA, and I’m trying to get into Factorio now that Space Age is out, so I think I will love this game as long as it actually gets finished.

Honestly is basically a more involved supreme commander, leader unit, base building, resource collecting, and of course army building and battles. even when buildings are destroyed is the exact same as in supreme commander. play supreme commander 2 one of my favorites and yall will see what im talkin about.

Yeah way to early and all they have as said is PvP and only the 1v1, the few maps to teach you the game but seems they don't really teach you a lot. So not surprised they get slammed with negative reviews on Steam. They should have kept it in developement for a few extra months so that at least the game did reach a Beta playable state instead of an alfa demo.

While it is sort of true that 2 miners filling up 1 storage and then that storage outputting to another building the problem will come if there isn't enough consumption of those goods because your storage may get full of 1 resource which is producing slightly faster, probably not an issue in this game with 2 mined resources that probably produce at the same rate but I've had that issue in factorio.

Sounds like it's best to have small tracks of belts to act as a buffer. So it fills that and refills as backing up occurs. With possibly just having dedicated storage for any one type of materials.

I think I like the idea of supcom plus factorio but the execution here feels a Lil to literal. With factorio you have 10s too hundreds of hours to mess with things. The loads of resources, piping things around and setting up factories. In supcom it's a large scale rts with a faster pace then factorio. I feel that there's just too many resources in this game and too much complicated things to allow for quick and efficient expansion of your base and armies. Super cool idea, just needs alot of refinement so excited to see how development goes for now.

This literally popped out yesterday, it was announce a year ago via kick starter (I think) I immediately backed it as a huge fan of both Factorio and Total Annihilation, this game comes from the developers on Planetary Annihilation.
