I had to swap my internal 500gb to a 1tb in my ps4 and I have a 2tb external also. I have about 42 games and my 2tb external hdd is more than half way full. My internal is still empty but that's ridiculous. My ps3 with a 500gb internal has well over 40 full games digitally installed and it only took about 240gb. Most of my ps4 games are disc, I only have about 5 games digitally downloaded.

No you dont, the launcher is in the media tab where you watch videos under the video apps section, you dont need the disc as any updated 360 has the drivers installed via the firmware update, the only 360s that cant run the HDDVD player are ones that have not been updated since about 2006.

I dont see how it would even be optional, by my understanding the disc didnt just contain the drivers for the player, it was an actual firmware update disc. This means that if your firmware is higher than that on the disc your 360 will activly ignore it. Just like how it ignored me when i dried to reinstall the NXE dashboard after seeing how shitty the metro dash looked.

I wouldnt have thought it needed an installation dusc, ive got one of those plugged directly in to an old tvs usb port, and it shows up as a media drive, and it will happily play dvds/avi/mp4 etc straight from discs on my (at least 10 year old non branded) spare room tv. If it doesnt need installation on that im sure it wouldnt need installing on a 360 would it? I might be wrong. But thinking back i plugged it straight in to my 360 from new, and dont remember having to install it.

HD DVDs made by Warner Bros had an issue with the glue on them coming undone over time and preventing the disc from reading,but it also plays regular dvds

Something to note about the HDD size. At that point in gaming you didn't need to install a game onto the hard drive, and there wasn't a hell of a lot in the way of games in the online store. I remember buying the first Puzzle Quest game, which didn't use up much space at all. With that being said, the 4 GB HDD was essentially there to hold your updates and act as a huge (for the day) internal memory card.

The 4GB model of the Slim was an arcade model, they were cheaper because they had small hard drives (Which was plenty of space for xbox arcade games, and storing game saves). It just prevented installing games to the hard drive for faster loading times.

The small hdd can easily be swapped for a big 1tb ssd. 2.5inch. Just format to fatx and swap the hdd from the enclosure

the hd dvd drive has essentially had a 256 gb memory card (like the ones that you could get for the old xbox 360) built in. It was meant for storage of data off of the hd dvd drive but you could use it for what ever you want (even a usb flash drive on a computer)

It's really amazing how this guy is aware of all the accessories out there. Personally I would replace the internal SATA HDD with a 16GB nand cache SSHD if I can find someone who can flash the firmware on the drive itself to be compatible with the Xbox 360, I would not go with the rechargeable battery packs since they are nothing more than Nickel AAs and instead buy the new rechargeable lithium ION... Or lithium polymer AA/AAA, most importantly is LUBRICATING ANALOG STICKS WITH SILICONE GREASE so the controllers don't break in 1/2 a year EVERY SINGLE TIME.

About the tray not opening, im not sure how it is with the slim versions but the older models had a way too strong magnet holding the tray closed, and a small rubber band is carrying a lot of workload for opening that tray. When it gets old it loses its tension so it can't go up against the strength of the magnet holding the tray closed anymore :')

Aurora is only useful for its FTP and LiNK connectivity. Other than that FSD blows it out the water.
