Man I can’t even imagine how overwhelmingly tedious this possibly is for you. The fact that you haven’t made a bigger pot to carry more water/dirt/mud, and opted to work at a smaller volume to make sure you get it right - you definitely have more patience than I would. Big kudos man, loving the progress so far.
@ChadZuberAdventures3 жыл бұрын
It takes a bit longer but it's really not that much of a difference. I've calculated a lot of this work in my head and if I were to carry a large bowl filled with mud the very weight of it would be quite exhausting.

Eh it’s not that bad. You get to be outside in the sun with nature to keep you company. It’s freeing in a way, but I don’t typically find the climate he’s in to be pleasant and relaxing. I never liked the desert environment or even been so I can’t say for sure if it’s enjoyable out there. Anyways I’m sure it’s nice to get away from society for awhile and have a chance to just think about things and look up at the nights sky without having light pollution or anyone to disturb your peace.

I am super happy and grateful that Chad puts all this time into his cinematography. When I first started watching his videos I binged watched all his content from when he first started doing the primal series and got up to this point now. I was like,” how does this man do this? He have a crew or something?” But now knowing it’s just him, I wonder if he ever gets lonely? Does he go home for the holidays to see family and friends or ever go into civilization for that matter? How does he live his life outside of his career here on KZbin?

For Levelling Purposes: use string. weight on one end, straight down. then do a 90° angle and you have your base.
@ChadZuberAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, that's a really good idea. I was planning to use string to ensure the walls are level up and down. But how to make a 90 degree angle?
@kryilce3 жыл бұрын
@@ChadZuberAdventures I just saw online somewhere, I forgot where, but the Egyptian method was to use a string 12 units long. Then one arm of the 90 degree angle is 3 units, the other is 4 units. The remaining 5 units is the side of the triangle opposite of the 90 degree corner. It just happens to be one of the perfect ratios of a right triangle
@92edoy3 жыл бұрын
Damn it, you beat me to it lol.@@ChadZuberAdventures To elaborate more to that, one could make a tripod with some more string and a few long branches; it doesn't actually matter if they are perfectly equal to the ground; then tie a rope at the top, and a stone at the other hand of the rope, and let gravity do its work; the stone will always follow the gravity pull towards the Earth, so it will always be perpendicular to sea level. If you have a long enough rope, you can hang the stone very close to the ground; then you estimate the 90 degree by just bringing the brick close to the rope. Edit: I just looked at it, in English this tool is called "plumb bob", or "plummet".

What a wonderful documentary. It really feels that this is exactly the way our ancestors manage to live in such a hostile environment with such a spartan gear and conditions not like the tundran DIY log cabin builders with all those modern folding saws and stainless steel scandi knives. Really all you need is to be fit, faithful, tough, immaginative and disciplined; and to be in a good team and a supporting family. I'd love to watch all that work with the help of other 2 or 3 people, the outcome would improve exponentially. Thank you Chad!
