pvc cement would help...you could add pool noodles to keep it on top of the water, or connect some cane poles on the top half to keep the weight down

This is second video I have seen of this channel, and this is an Instant favorite channel now. Since rods tamper down to a point, if you used bigger pipe and went to smaller pipe and made a pivot point for it you could cast from the bank. kinda like a catapult .

Good video bro. My notes…. You Should of started with 1 1/2 PVC and worked it down to 1/2. That would of given it backbone. And use PVC cement next time. Also maybe bait it for catfish .

Having all the pipes the same diameter was the biggest mistake. The base and the midsection should have been much thicker like a real rod, and you'd need a tractor or an excavator as the base to hold it and cast and set the hook. All you have now is a big uncontrollable noodle. Sheesh, think a little.

Yakpak, think back to your days in the army out in South Korea. The local nationals there go carp fishing with extremely long cane poles. No reel, just line the length of the rod and they use a thrower (think of a tennis ball thrower for your dog) to cast out a circle hook with a worm and a bobber with the rod setting in a holder. Those rods are also about 5-6 inches in diameter at the base and taper down like any other rod towards the tip.

You should glue the pipes together and reinforce the pipe with dowl rods inside the pipe and used eyelets screws as line guides.

Maybe you could add a section of three-quarter inch wide metal measuring tape to the top of the rod to keep it from bending so much??? At least 50 footer on the second half of the rod, maybe rivet it onto the pipe, to keep it from bending so much???

Still watching....... but yawl gotta really visit the electrical pvc sections of these hardware stores. Long pipe couplings are molded into the end of every 10' stick of pvc. They're "bell ends"

i think i know a way to cast it from the bank. it will take all 3 of you to do it tho. you don't cast it overhanded, you cast it side armed. line it up along the bank, one man to work the reel, one in the middle to hold it up off of the ground and the third one on the end piece to side cast the bait. it's plenty long enough and flexible enough to get a good throw, he could also kinda hold the line as you reel to feel a bite if you get one. if you try that.......good luck.
