That forklift has proven to be one of the smartest purchases you have every made. How could you have muscled that around without it? Not to mention all of the other projects you have tackled with it. Always a "thinker" and more importantly " a Doer". Great videos!

Thanks! I have no idea how I’d have conquered that without the forklift!

Hi from France, i'm more or less a city slicker, although i now live out in the boonies and comute daily to my job in the big smoke, i really do enjoy your chanel,i do watch others, but i find it great to finally see a farmer who seems to get by without spending millions each season and well seems honest enough to show how the "older" stuff can still bring in some dollars, with all the ups and downs associated. Great little chanel.

Should put a small chem inductor on the side or on the spraybar so you dont have to hoist chemicals up and down the tractor and make a hose hook up down below so you also dont have to climb up to put the hose in the tank.

on one hand what a crazy idea. on the other hand what a crazy idea. 😂 Seems like the tractor will be intact for tractor work and there is plenty of room for upgrades and adaptive changes over time. You might even be able to dual up and straddle all the rows when it's really wet. You have some options to add a closed center pump system on the tractor due to the belt drives. You can probably get an even bigger tank between the wheels and mount the 300 gal up front...add a tow behind tank....spray and plant in one pass... etc❤ good luck and thanks for sharing this project with us 😊

Chem Farm made a front mounted sprayer unit in the ‘70’s. My brother had a MF 4840 with this unit installed. A crankshaft belt drive ran the pump. Massey axles were not heavy enough to have this weight out front, so issues developed in later years. Other neighbours used rear mounted tanks on Versatile 875 and 1100 tractors. Incorporating chemicals this way improved productivity. Good on you for reviving this system.

That's gonna be a really nice upgrade over the pull behind unit. It is also a really good use of an "extra" articulated four wheel drive tractor. Given the number of acres that you farm and your assortment of tractors you can almost have 1 tractor dedicated to each operation that you need to do and a spray rig like that is a very good thing to have. The only issue I see is getting the product that you're applying into the tank with it sitting that high on the back of the tractor, but that's something that can easily be dealt with for no more acres than you're dealing with. It might be an issue for 2,000 acres, but not 150.

And it would not be in your way... just thinking out loud
