Continues to look great. Taking the wheels off the trailer - OMG I am doing that tomorrow! The roof in my shed is low that will really save my back on my Malahini build. I like the transom wedge pieces - nice detail. Thanks for posting your videos, your attention to detail encourages me not to rush and cut corners on my project. Looking forward to next months...

Great work. You are a very meticulous guy. You didn't fully explain how you faired out the wedge at the top of the transom, other than to say you planned to use a tenon saw. But I would imagine a plane must have been involved? Interested to know how you did it.

that is correct, i used a hand plane and just faired down to each of the three tenon cuts, hand sanded to final shape.

1. What is going to be your motor? I have done some research and found out that early engines can be found with a short shaft however newer engines are less so. So by the design of your transom it is in need of a short shaft engine. 2. I like the wire tie holders however, I have viewed other boat builders and all of them feel that all fasteners should be in silcone brass as the stainless can and does fail in a wet enviroment. 3. You will need holes for the steering cable to access the engine. Are you going through the top of the deck or through the engine box? 4. Notice how the fine details is eating up your time? Great work! Would like a response so I know you are getting this!

ken, i plan on buying a brand new merc or tohatsu, both offer 40hp with short shafts, i prefer stainless when exposed to air, bronze when burried, the steer cable will go through the side of the motorwell, no hole yet, thanks for the comment,...josh

Thanks Josh, I have been enjoying your video series. If you sell this boat providing a disc of total construction would be a great se4lling tool.

I have come to looking forward to the 1st of every month just to see your progress on your boat. Dude, you are making fantastic progress. I love it all. If I were a lottery winner I'd have you build me a boat. One question..... You'll need to have a motor well drain (you don't want to have standing water in your boat)? Was that a homebuilt Kit fox you were riding in? I think you and I might have more in common than not.
@joshuaburks8 жыл бұрын
ha! it is a homebuilt kitfox, my uncles. it's powered by a VW! what an incredibly agile plane! it suprised me how responsive it is to small inputs, lots of fun. as for the motor well, yep going to be adding drains sometime soon.

+joshuaburks Thanks for responding. I thought that was a Kit Fox. A very popular homebuilt. Glad to hear you have a plan for the motor well.

If you had a table saw you could have cut a wedge. You must be an actuary since you spend many hours in analysis🤣 but you did a nice job.
