This one is special because it's the first one that I have built entirely from scratch, including the neck. I always planned to keep it at the end, which gave me the courage to be a bit experimental.
The body is walnut kitchen worktop which was chambered (hollowed out) before gluing on the flame maple top. The guitar is about 3.5 kg as a result, at least a kilo less than it would have been. The neck is sycamore with a wenge fingerboard.
The pickups are Irongear Smoke Stack II which have an overwound option built in, hence the toggle switch which enables a higher output. Volume control is standard, but that isn't a tone control, it's an Artec "expand to peak controller", which shapes the tone quite dramatically from just the highs and lows and one extreme and just the middles at the other. At half way the tone is left flat. It's really useful, I'm amazed that it isn't used more often. I never really use a tone control but this gets a lot of use.
The pickup lights are strip LEDs embedded in resin, and there are colour changing LEDs in the cavity. There are brightness trim pots for both inside the cavity and on/off switches on the hatch cover. Also on this one I installed a Li-ion internal battery with a USB port for charging. That's to power the lights and also the Artec EXP unit.
