I straight up love Ultimate Ears as a company!!! Bought my first pair of Ultimate Ears like 15 years ago and was lucky enough to get a pair of customs made (think they were UEM11’s at the time) and they were probably the craziest but best piece of kit I’ve ever bought. Had the chance to go the factory in CA years ago (went to LA just so I could go visit them) to get mine repaired. The folks were so geeked that I’d traveled from Australia to seem them they gave me a tour and let me see how it all happened. Still got the freebie t-shirt they gave me ha ha ha

Hi I'm Jana and I have a lot of ear wax.. that was a funny edit intro ( 3:22 ). Saw her heaps at Audio46 reviewing a number of headphones/IEM's. Really great to see the process on how custom IEM's are made and tuned.

I used to have a lot of earwax. One time it got so bad the wax completely blocked the ear canal and I heard zero high frequency for two weeks. Finally went to doctor to remove the wax. It was the most incredible feeling listening to high frequency after being almost deaf for weeks! Now I clean my canals daily with a q-tip
@samlee25623 жыл бұрын
Don't use q tips (!) they just push and compact wax further (yes they remove some surrounding wax) and you can puncture your eardrum if you slip or are jogged, extremely painful and takes months to heal, but mainly don't use q tips because they compact wax ✊ You can dissolve wax whilst washing your hair in the shower or you can use olive oil drops every day for a couple of weeks every year or so. The olive oil will slowly soften up your ear wax until it runs out during sleep or movement.

Bought my UE's about three years ago. They are GREAT on stage and for casual listening. Not an advert, but I'd do it again in a single heartbeat. On a commercial flight, plane noise, other passengers who love to hear themselves talk for hours on end and screaming brats all disappear. Worth every penny!

I've seen many reviews of Jana on audio46 and hifi heaven and she actually knows a lot about headphones, hifi equipment, sound signatures, etcetera. Plus all of her reviews were pretty good. But in this tour she seems boring, distant and uninterested, she didn't ask any questions or comment on the process of making the ciems. Maybe she was having a bad day or who knows. Anyway besides from that, it was a pretty good tour.

I’m really curious about these 100% acrylic C-IEMs. Being a musician and vocalist a lot of jaw movement occurs, every time I had impressions made, I had to bite on a spacer block to place my jaw and hence open the ear canal to allow for a better seal of the IEM and decrease the chance of it moving out of place with jaw movement. Of course the final product had silicone inside the ear and at any place the IEM touched the ear and the acrylic electronics capsule didn’t really touch the inner ear. Having said all that, it would seem the 100% acrylic material inside the ear would cause irritation from the movement of the jaw and inner ear, leading to inflammation that results in pain. I’m curious how the latter is avoided. I’m asking as I have experienced this with two sets of IEMs at $1500 a pop, even though they fit perfectly as long as I kept my mouth closed, after a 4 hour gig my inner ears were irritated as all hell. My silicone inner ear pieces provide a great seal and my inner ears are very happy. Of course about once or twice a year I have to replace the molded tips at $180 a pair, because silicone does breakdown overtime and use. I’m not hatin, I’m just curious. I getting ready to order my new gen 2 Westone C-IEM, 6 armature drivers with internal crossovers per ear. $1900 for the pair. I guess I’ll just send an email to this company and ask...

Having watched this, though poor showcasing, has made me want a pair even more. It was very cool to watch the stuff they do to make these, gotta start saving some cash I guess :)

One could wonder about her reviews when she had so much earwax in ear canals. That for sure affects sound of any headphone, over- or in-ear. Do you want cheap upgrade to the sound? Clean your ear canals properly! :) Anyway, UE factory and the host looks and sound professionally, very good use of technology. I'd love to see a tuning process and how all these BA are put together into one IEM. I wonder if they do voicing to personal preferences for total custom IEM (not just look and finish personalization).

@chrisbarbz92387 жыл бұрын
She didn't have EXCESSIVE earwax. It's just too much ear wax for them to work with. It's just a necessary step to clean the part where the mold for the IEM will be inserted in the ear canal. And it also made possible for her to show what they do in this case. And lastly, that's the proper way of cleaning your ears. You don't barge the tips in your ears.

I live in pakistan, i love my country but the people who are even doctor here, audiologist and others aren't sincere with patients and their work. I have hearing problem, so i purchased a hearing aid from an audiologist and he sell me in around 400 $. But he did a fraud with me. I am an employee in a private firm and my monthly pay is around 170 to 180$. I have lost my money which i have earned with hardship and purchase Oticon Spirit Zest.
