Strong doesn't like Lock-Picking, or when you get into Power Armor. He Does like Killing, and Eating opponents (If you want to take the Cannibal Perk). "Can I not be on fire?" Yes. -> Chest armor mod Asbestos lined. Can be taken from other gear if you can't craft it....

You can build a bell that will call all of your settlers into a central location. That can be quite helpful when you're trying to assign all your settlers.
@kevinhaynes90916 ай бұрын
Great episode. The Slog is my favourite settlement. There are five named settlers; Wiseman, Jones, Holly, Deirdre, and Arlen Glass. For whatever reason, the devs have made Deirdre and Holly vulnerable to settlement attacks, and because they're both fearless and run headlong in to every fight, they can get themselves easily killed. As soon as you can, equip them with some good armour and weapons, including any Mutant Slayer stuff, and you'll give them a fighting chance of surviving. The number of times I reloaded saves to keep Holly and Deirdre alive is nuts, but as you said The Slog is a really nice settlement, and they all deserve to live...

Strong is great, he gets upset if you use workbenches to improve weapons and armor "Tinker tinker, Strong BORED!!" or perform any action that requires dexterity or hand/eye coordination (like lockpicking) - super mutants are kind ham-fisted with thick sausage fingers. He's easy to keep happy though - just kill everything always. Talk to him everyday so he will give you MEAT!! Both he and Codsworth are good to pal around with in Survival mode since Codsworth gives you purified water daily.

That is ADORABLE!
@shacklferd776 ай бұрын
You can still set up settlements regardless of weather or not you align with the minutemen. You just have to set up and power a settlement beacon. But to the point I go wild with my settlements. I like to set up 3 or 4 water purification factories that produce between 100 and 400 bottles per day. Who controls the water controls the wasteland! I’m stoked to see you getting into the settlement mechanics. I’ve been playing off and on since day 1. But I am enjoying watching you experience the wasteland for the first time. I hope you are having fun.

Hi Yebba, jsyk, the key you pick up at 1:57 helps you get into some of the lorry trailers that are dotted around the map. Not missing much if you don't unlock them but figured you'd wanna know of any extra loot for your hoard :P Also, if you upgrade the demolitions expert perk you'll get a throwing arc for your grenades and molotovs which makes aiming with them a hell of a lot easier, plus the extra damage is always a good thing :D
@YebbaDebba6 ай бұрын
Oooooo good to know!! Thank you so much! I was wondering if those were able to be entered...
They will never take away that perk from me! (Until I ultimately switch guns cause I needed better firepower against stronger foes)

Settlement Tips: There are build heights, so feel encouraged to build UP! Hangman's Alley is L-shaped - the settlers stick to the leg and never go in the foot - you can plant crops there but the settlers won't actually farm there but the crops can still be assigned and grown. I tend to keep shops at ground level there and just build 2nd and 3rd story apartments for housing. 9 play throughs and have never repeated a build design at any location, settlement building is really "cozy" gaming. As I usually play survival I tend to focus more on safehouses than settlements since there is a 2% chance of an attack every day and that goes for each settlement you have. Can't fast travel in survival so if you happen to be at Jamaica Plain and an attack occurs more likely than not that attack is going to be at Outpost Zimonja or Coastal Cottage - yep, settlers can fend for themselves on that; good luck bozos. I did manage to build a huge 30+ raider outpost at Zimonja my first survival run - it was glorious- probably smelled bad but hey, y'know, raiders.🤣

@YebbaDebba6 ай бұрын

@marts3256 ай бұрын
In Hangman's Alley, there's a weird pathing issue with that alley that leads out to the river. Un-modded, your settlers will just not go to that area. That's why your guard was hanging out with the crops rather than manning her post. Technically, they're still performing their function, they're just not performing the corresponding animation. Nice to see you really getting into settlement building. It can get frustrating at times but also one of the most rewarding aspects of the game 🙂

Great video! Something that may help in the bigger fights, when you use VATS each hit fills up your critical meter. (Bottom middle, just above the VATS instructions) Once full you can press the assigned button (in your case the space bar) to execute a critical hit. You can press it immediately after accepting the VATS shots. Crits are automatic his no matter what the percentage is and do considerably more damage. Got instance in your fight against the power armor raider near the end, a critical to the head might have saved you a bit of a headache. You did great regardless though! You did pick up a few combat rifles, those can be excellent with the right mods. No spoilers, but exploring South of your Oberland Station settlement could be well worth your time.

You can give provisioners a good gun & 1 bullet & they will never use up the bullet. Give them good armour too & they can be handy if you bump into them while fighting. Extra gun. I have 2 provisioners per settlement going long routes so heaps of wandering help.

I don't give all of mine equal attention. I like to wall off my settlements using cement foundations stacked on top of each other. So i mainly stick to larger settlement locations with plenty of flat ground. Like starlight drive in. With the exception of a couple that can give you a tactical advantage after a specific point in the game. Like Hangmans Alley.
