Thank you! She is loving her room, which makes me so happy since she was such a trooper living in that tiny loft space in the yurt for the last two years! I give all the hummingbird shot credit to Chuck...he patiently waited for it to get into the perfect spot!

Brie is an absolute character she’s hilarious to say the least I just love her humor! 😂 Brooke Chuck is correct about the uprights being routed and steps going inside the routes. But since you built it that way here’s a way that you can strengthen each step. Cut you 1” to 1.5” inch blocks X 3.5” and place them under each step against the riser or upright. Then nail them down into the upright riser with a finishing nail gun. Those little blocks under the end of each step will really strengthen them steps so they’ll hold twice the weight. They won’t take up that much space on the ladder. Also They’ll not look that bad once you’ve stained them to match. 😉

I was planning on doing that to begin with but our "builder" son suggested that I could do without them. Thinking he is definitely not an engineer and I should have trusted my gut. It should all still work out since it's not a heavily used ladder!

You could use the same screws for heavier people the thing to do is of set each rung about a 1/2 inch on both runners should have watched to the end because Chuck was on the same page

Yes! We will definitely be doing that for the bunk room ladder. That one will definitely be used a lot in the future (and hopefully by our future grandchildren 🤗!)
