Can you tell me the angles that you used to frame the pool? The piece that looks like a trim around the lip of the pool

I didn’t measure the angles. I laid the long piece that goes along the long side of the pool. Then I put the next piece down over that with the end going just past the piece I’d already laid down, marked the inside and outside to match the end of the piece I already laid down and cut it on that angle. For the other end of the next piece I just made up and new angle and repeated that process all the way around. I hope that helps.

Newbie here, so can you sit on the side of the pool with your legs in the water? Or do you have to sit on the wood decking, thus if so why not make it flush with the top of the pool?

Don't sit on the top seat of the pool it could buckle the wall id say if you want a solid pool to sit on top of get a radiant pool

I don’t remember, but there’s so many variables when building a deck; mainly wood prices which have varied drastically over the last few years. But to give you a number, it was probably between 6k-7k for all materials which obviously doesn’t include my weeks of labor.
