Michael will be 69 on February 12, 2021. He and his wife Amy have been married since 1983. I had a crush on him when I was in high school. I saw him at a small venue here in Los Angeles after an early album was re-released following his success with The Doobie Brothers. I yelled out that he was still handsome. The other women cheered. His face turned red, and he thanked me. I'm now 62, and I still think he's handsome and extremely talented.

Britain has the excellent talent of the great Freddie Mercury and the top of them all, George Michael. RIP. ...However, the US has this kind, handsome, and humble musician with the VELVET voice...Michael McDonald. He is a national treasure, correctly posted by Freddy Rodriguez below! You can hear the first notes of his heaven-sent voice and you organically return to the past and whatever joy or pain you experienced then and lovely memories flood back to your soul. There's a healing facet within his voice that can't be duplicated. Be well Michael and my goodness, thank you for allowing us to sing along with that magnificent voice of yours!

Michael Mcdonald is for me the best example as a musician/songwriter to follow. One of my favourite of his hidden treasures is with his sister Maureen. The band was called DELTA , and the album was from 1985. The atmosphere reflected in each track let you speechless...just beautiful at the max.

Michael McDonald: your book WHAT A FOOL BELIEVES IN IS SO GOOD. I believe you are courageous to provide heartfelt and believable information about the life, the real life of a real composer in the milieu where rock composers dwell. I love it. I purchased your WIDE OPEN CD a few years ago and I’ll tell you, and I’m sure you know, the mediocre percussion is what wrecked the album. I believe anything you write has possibilities, and as your book portrays there is lots of work and luck in completing a song. You have had a lot of winners, but never maybe enough. I thank you for sticking to what you know what is good as a piece of art in music. Your comprehensive book is very satisfying, though I also think with awe that you survived. That’ s just you…….. a marvel in your genius. Thank you.

One new album in seventeen years, wonder why that is? Oh yes, MONEY! When you consider that most artists used to release albums every year or every two years and now we have to wait SEVENTEEN YEARS!! Of course nobody talks about how much it costs to make a great album. And in this new era of free music on KZbin and Spotify then it is pretty obvious when artists like Michael have bills to pay and families to feed and not much left over with which to record new music. And free music pays the artists NOTHING which is probably why we have to wait seventeen years for a new album. But we need to have the artists educate the public about the consequences of not paying artists for their work. Good music costs a lot of money to make, lots of money. Just consider all the musicians who play on these new tracks, they all expect Michael to pay them. And THOUSANDS of dollars paid out to other musicians means there needs to be revenues coming in from sales for the artists to get reimbursed these costs. Not to mention paying themselves for the hundreds of hours they spend recording all the instruments and tracks. Just think if Michael had a budget every year to make a new album then we would now have SEVENTEEN great MM albums to enjoy instead of ONLY ONE!! But don't blame the fans! And don't forget, musicians are all ROCK STARS and RICH and they don't need money!
@rogercraig72034 жыл бұрын
Oh and BTW, Steve Lukather told me that his band Toto went from 90% Recording/10% Touring to 10% Recording/ 90% Touring after Napster came along. But don't blame the fans for that either!!
