Me and my fiancee were watching the Second season last week....big fan, read the books too. She keeps on telling "Count Olaf just disgusts me, just irks me....feels so angry whenever I see him" That my dear friends, is the admiration ....When a villain gets hatred for its mere existence in the story, he has done good job. at times, Hamming happens - but then again the demand of the story is like that.

Im an adult and i really appreciate and love watching the series and dont mind even rewatching, they did such an amazing work! With the scenery and neil is such a perfect count olaf, I dont have kids, I watch it and rewatch for myself, you can tell they put all of work in the details, I notice and really appreciate it. The dialogue, the jokes, etc they have done the books and my imagination reading the books growing up justice!! lOVE it great work!!!

The "Olivia Caliban" of the show does not exist in the books. In the books, Olivia Caliban is the real name of Madame Lulu (bk. 9), who is a false fortune-teller who turns out to be the one giving Olaf information on where to find the Baudelaires. I extremely dislike Olivia Caliban in the show. She's poorly acted, her dialogue is boring and cliche, and her character is stupid and unnecessary. Her relationship with the Baudelaires (and Jacques Snicket) is useless and boring. Thank you, #OliviaCaliban.

As a kid I've enjoyed the shows which had a complex story and not a series of sketches for demented like I felt they got with time. I found and rewatched some of them, even if some special effects dated badly they were still fun. It time me some time to figure out the titles of "Children of the dog star" it sort of traumatised me and my friend, "Boy from Andromeda" was like predator for teens, and the other was "The girl from the future". I also liked the BBC productions like the old version of Narnia tails, I got to watch "Children of the stones" recently and I find it enjoyable as an adult.
