To endure, one must evolve. That holds true everywhere from the animal kingdom to modern society. Survival itself relies on progression. Disturbed progress and confidently chart new territory on their seventh full-length album, "Evolution." Embodying the title’s meaning tenfold, the 2-time Grammy-nominated/multiplatinum-selling hard rock quartet (vocalist David Draiman, guitarist Dan Donegan, drummer Mike Wengren and bassist John Moyer) rearrange their musical DNA into a two-headed monster representative of dual styles: “Heavy” and “Ballad.” In doing so, they deliver a daring, dynamic and definitive body of work.
BUILD is a live interview series like no other-a chance for fans to sit inches away from some of today’s biggest names in entertainment, tech, fashion and business as they share the stories behind their projects and passions. Every conversation yields insights, inspiration and plenty of surprises as moderators and audience members ask questions. It all happens several times a day live and live-streamed on BUILDseries.com.

He could record his speaking voice reading the phone book and it would be a best seller for insomniacs. I believe he could also record lullabies in his softer singing voice that would be a hit, as well. He is multi-faceted.

I discovered Disturbed about a year ago because of Sound of Silence. My child was shocked that her mother was an instant fan. If Disturbed ever come to Ireland - well, I am partially-sighted, I do not like travelling or staying away from home or really loud music - but I'd be there, my 'phone will be on silent and, when loud stuff is played I'll have ear plugs so I can hear it without being blown out of the place. As one man said "A great song is a great song". I wonder how many of their fans, like me, are of an older generation who have discovered great music? "More than one flavour" - definitely.

I personally prefer their older stuff. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the new album, for instance, a reason to fight, are you ready, this venom, hold on to memories, I just don't think that this is my go to album. My actual go to album would would most definitely be asylum. Their aggressive stuff. I fully support band and their decisions. And I look forward to hearing more of their future stuff. And I will always and forever be DISTURBED!!

I've been listening to Disturbed for almost 10 years, since I was in middle school, and I feel that what David said around the 17:25 mark perfectly describes it, perhaps I feel the flow between lyrics and music sometimes doesn't sound that good to me, but its been the message that they convey in each and every single one of their songs that's kept me a fan for so long. I might be one of the few, but I think this album perhaps if not great already, is the beginning to something great and I cannot thank them enough for being about the message and what feels right.

@@Raven_of_Doom they are a nue metal band.. Apparently you haven't listened to prayer from around the same era, to express one's anger is not demonic. Did he or any of the members commit murder? No. You basing your claim off of that is ridiculous. As for spirituality.. Spirituality goes beyond the individual experience and is and always has been a practice to become one with a higher self. Seems like they are achieving that.. But I mean it's nit like any religious figure fliped tables in a tabernacle or talked shit on his students outside the monastery for trying to tell them about what they broke down for them.. I like Disturbed's new album. But it's not my favorite. They keep saying that this is the heaviest sounding album they've made. This new album may be heavier in terms of topic, or even emotionally heavier for them, but the sound is far from heavy, especially by Disturbed standards. not trying to hate on the album, it sounds great, I think its cool that the band is exploring a new sound, but it just wouldn't be my first pick if I were asked which album is my favorite. That spot is reserved for Indestructible. The title track on that album kind of talked me out of doing something that I wouldn't have lived long enough to regret. So needless to say, that album has and always will be my favorite.

No shit, that's what happens when days and years and LIFE goes by, you get OLDER, what's with this obsession with being young? a teenager, or whatever, get over it, it's a fleeting moment and then you have to grow up, what, once you hit 30 your supposed to just lay down and die? Come talk to me in 10 years when you got some 17 year old acting like your a peice of shit because you have lived longer than them, age equals wisdom and maturity, youth is a fraction of your life, figure it out

I just wish it was longer, an evolution it was indeed but a few more out of this world heavy songs wouldn’t have hurt. Looking back I really related with the themes on indestructible and asylum and I wish more of that came through on this one. The thematic messages here were great don’t get me wrong but I just wish for 2-3 more songs similar to that era. I hate to be that guy reminiscing of the ‘good old days’ but that’s the disturbed I grew up on and it helped me with my parents separation, repeated broken relationships, etc so no matter what they put out I will probably not have that same passion for it again because of how personal it all was.

I hear this band making a fortune around the fact they we are all going through it. But where is the answers to our afflictions. As helpful as it is for many to know that we are not alone, I haven't heard anything in the music that points us to the answer for our sorrows. Where is the author? where is the true creator? Where is the Lord? Or should we just listen to your music and get angry ????

' No Evolution here folks. Just 'brick walled' shit-noise all over the place. So upset. Great band but my god they cannot record music with some dynamic range to save their lives. Terrible. CD is as good as a coaster. :(

I met the members of disturbed backstage at sunken gardens in San Antonio. This took place on 9-29-2011 n they happened to be on tour with drowning pool.whats crazy is this concert took place just 2 weeks before the singer of drowning pool died.He was such a great guy n may he r.i.p.Disturbed made a huge impression on me n my friend because after that show n actually meeting these group of guys we were life long fans ever since.Awesome band. They rock live n definitely one of my favorites of all time.

Lost children isn't considered an actual studio album, it's just a collection of b-sides(songs that didn't make the album) from all their albums.

It being a b-side shouldn't matter, to me it should count they're 7 albums *8 counting the one they're working on* but we're not counting 6? That fucks with me too much these guys are getting stupid

@@tomfoolery2964 yeah, I remember tweeting David like years ago, asking about that, among other things, and he was like "it's not a official album, just besides", I was like "huh, some of them are stronger than your albums" he thought that was funny apparently lol

I know people are saying this isn't the heaviest stuff and it's not like the old disturbed, but they said in the interview that they were going for a different sound. Now I totally agree that ther heavy sound is better, but I still love this album. No album will ever be like The Sickness or Believe again, but Disturbed is still one of my favorite bands. I love when bands try a new sound and it still works for them. Also, that's why evolution is the perfect name for the album because there sound evolved into different sounds instead of just this hard and heavy stuff and I really respect that

I agree. The ballads are stale, most of the electric songs have too much industrial in them, it feels generic and unpolished - it's like listening to Linkin Park's A Thousand Suns: half the album is fillers and interludes, while the other half are shitty songs. So with Evolution half the songs are ballads and the other half is overwhelmed with industrial sound and shows the poor writing of the record.

I wasn't a huge fan of Immortalized but it at least had a few decent songs on it. This one just feels stale. I must have listened to it about 30 times now and it still isn't catchy to me. Honestly though, I enjoyed some of the songs on A Thousand Suns. Some of them were just shit though. I definitely liked that album more than I like the new Disturbed album.
