I just want to say Adriana is very very smart. She may not say words the same as us but she understands perfectly. She knows 5 languages and it takes her a moment to pull out the right sentences sometimes. She gets excited! She really is enthusiastic about being able to represent VS. Before when she couldn't speak fluently she couldn't represent women like she does now. I appreciate the effort it took you to pick English up. Her French, Portuguese and Italian is perfect!!

Actually, Alessandra Ambrósio has Polish and Italian ancestry (according to Wikipedia = /), but I doubt she has any Portuguese blood in her vein, even though the Azoreans (people from a region in Portugal) colonized the region of Rio Grande do Sul (where Alessandra was born) and east of Santa Catarina. My maternal great-grandfather was surnamed Ambrósio, like Alessandra's, who is sometimes said to be Italian, although I doubt that there is any such Ambrósio in Portugal, since I am sure he was a descendant of Portuguese. I agree with you that culture and personality were important in the fact that Brazilians models are what they are today as international and capable models. A fact that strikes me is some of the black African models that also parade for Victoria's Secret are from Angola (a country colonized by Portugal) such as Maria Borges and Sharam Diniz. Too much of a coincidence, huh? Maybe genetics will tell you a little, do not you think? I think she's definitely grown more comfortable with showing her personality. You'd be surprised how outgoing and talkative 'quiet' people can be. Plus, Adriana is definitely the leader of the VS girls! I had the pleasure of meeting her four years ago, and I've never felt more empowered by such an intimidatingly beautiful gal. :)

I don't think Adriana's personality really changed. I saw her videos when she was younger. She acts the same, only she grew more comfortable in the modeling world. She said it herself, she didn't even speak any English when she walked her first show
