I don't think he likes interviews very much, they seem to make him uncomfortable. (Also) start paying attention to how often you say filler words e.g., like, umm, you know, you will be shocked.

I have to admit I've gotten addicted to the Marvel t.v. series but Dylan has a point about all of the remakes, there really isn't much originality these days. Ghostbusters, Flatliners, Blade Runner, Dirty Dancing, Point Break... it's return of the 80's movies. What did the 80's do for inspiration? Are they going to remake Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club too?

Seeing as my two favorite actors are Dylan Obrien and Tom Holland, it hurt a bit to hear him say what he did about Marvel, but I cant help but agree in many ways. I enjoy and respect Marvel movies, and I have for years, but I completely agree that originality is being left behind for money in many respects and its not just Marvel, but many other movies as well. (i.e. remaking all Disney movies as live action) Although Spider-Man Homecoming is different and better ( in my opinion) than the previous instalments, it is undeniably a reboot. This is why, while I love him in Spider-Man, I'm glad that Tom Holland has a very diverse filmography and even did theater. Similarly, while Dylan has a diverse filmography as well, I'm glad that he`s getting to do something even more different than what he`s done. One of the coolest things about actors is their ability to play many roles. And to me, a truly talented actor is one who can completely become the character without a theater degree or years of training. To me, true actors respond to scenes honestly and that makes a great movie. I mean, its hard to see a picture of Dylan as Stiles and Dylan as Mitch and think that they`re the same person! Cant wait to see AA! Great interview!

Laurel Rogers oh, i liked your comment about this sad tendency. Although, as a fan of two young actors myself, I'd like to ask what did you think about Tom getting the part of spidey, not Dylan? He wanted to be Spider-Man, too)). PS i can't say Marvel doesn't evolve.

I feel like the MCU is not invested for quantity over quality. They spent 11 years making 21 or 22 movies that all synced to one overall story arc (Infinity War) and weaves all those little details together with excellent writing, direction and casting. I respect the fact that he (Dylan) doesn’t like the superhero movies, but that’s his opinion. The actors and crew who are involved in the MCU are working just as hard in prep, execution and delivering films that meet and exceed the expectations of fans who have been reading these comics since childhood. Now the X-Men and DC movies are pumping out movies that do not meet the same quality, yes so my opinion is that Marvel has worked hard as hell, and the sequels to all these Marvel films are continuing the same grand storyline that led to Endgame. And there is still so much more that Marvel can do with all the source material. And, I mean, Dylan has been in 2 films based on book series, and 1 based off of a 80s movie...that’s “regurgitated” material.

Two movies off the top of my head that I would really like to see sequels for are Locke and American Assassin. I think AA was my introduction to Dylan O'Brien. I have since watched as much as is available for Dylan including Teen Wolf and Maze Runner. He's an incredible physical comedian with great timing but you see the seeds of this deep well of emotion and dramatic chops in his early work. He has everything he needs to be a male lead in anything he chooses; action, drama, comedy, whatever way he wants to go.

They always play way to much in trailers. Stuff that isn't even in the movie, stuff that's at the very end. Fuck why do they do that??
@pinkgiraffe3782 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with Dylan, if something does well they just make loads more of them and it's very repetitive. Even films that aren't sequels of each other sometimes end up following the same story pattern as they know it works I guess, but it gets pretty repetitive and boring really to just to see more of the same thing and little originality.

Wait a minute. Back up; Cuesta consulted THE MOSSAD??? For AMERICAN assassin? And get this, they had been INVOLVED in drafts of THE SCRIPT??? That in itself is a red flag over the motivations and backing for this movie. Thanks for that piece of information cuesta; helped me decide I am NOT watching this movie.
@qweed547 жыл бұрын
GeorgiaIsOnMyMind dude what do you have against Israel?
@GeorgiaIsOnMyMind7 жыл бұрын
Allie Hodges I didn't know the mossad, from making mischief around the globe is now also in the business of hijacking and writing American movie scripts (so to try & proliferate friendly opinion towards mossad & israel in the U.S and beyond). Arts, entertainment & film to me are a free medium and I'm troubled that israel is trying to hijack ours. (I had heard similar stories about them pushing their snouts in latin American, european indian cinema.) I rebuke this and it's reason enough for me to boycott this film.
@btp2487 жыл бұрын
Well then the CIA and Mossad clearly have plenty in common since the CIA sticks their nose in the world's business constntly. Of course he consulted Mossad. There training is another level.
@traciegeorge26747 жыл бұрын
I don't care whether you see the movie or not (I'd probably give it a 6/10), but just wanted you to be aware... the reason he consulted Mossad is because there's a part of the movie where they meet up with Mossad and the it becomes a joint OP between them and the CIA (spoiler alert-it doesn't last very long). He didn't consult them for the purposes of informing his American characters. He did it for purposes of portraying the Mossad characters authentically.
@GeorgiaIsOnMyMind7 жыл бұрын
Tracie George Eek! So the mossad is being shown as some kind of 'friend' of the CIA, and therefore a protagonist? All the more reason Not to financially support this movie, since it obviously has zionist handlers underneath it.
