Thanks for that. I am just starting out household DIY and using laser levels. It was like Chinese to me however I shall watch it a few times to grasp it.

Hi Steve, thanks for your comment. While Height of collimation is related to the use of a Laser level it is not generally used in this way. While Laser Levels are great for transferring given heights around the site they are not good to working out RLs.

how do you book that inverted reading. Do you book it as a rise or a fall if you were using the rise and fall method.
@Buildsum3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mate, inverted levels are recorded as a negitive figure and them calculated as normal in the rise and fall sheet. Hope this helps

I have some stupid questions. if I was asked to set the receiver height for the laser for the ffl slab height would I just minus my RL of 11.300 to the slab RL and would that be my receiver height? do you always need a datum point to start off to find the receiver staff height, for instance you want to work on the retaining wall and want the receiver height but have set the laser up in the backyard and cant get a height form the datum point at the front?
@Buildsum Жыл бұрын
Hi Henry, the height of the receiver only relates to the height you set the laser up at. You need to have a reference point to set the receiver up to. If you cant get back to the jobsite datum you may have to us another surface with a known height or put in a tempoary peg to get your heights from.

what does RL stand for?
@Buildsum4 жыл бұрын
RL stands for Reduced Level. It is a height above or below the given Datum or Benchmark.
