Thank you. I bought a used 9.5 ft kayak yesterday and transported it inside my SUV. There isn’t room for another occupant in the car. I didn’t buy a roof cradle yet, and don’t think I’m strong enough to get it up on top by myself, but you have some great tips! Great simple instruction. Clear and easy to understand. Can you post a link for the double kayak rack?

Thank you for this video I tried this technique on my 2 pelican catch 130 but they looked massive for this j bar! Is it secure for such big kayaks ?
@buildthedream77 Жыл бұрын
I know that this j bar can carry a max load of 75 pounds per boat. However, I also read it's designed to carry 2 normal kayaks or just 1 oversized kayak. My kayaks are roughly 40-50 pounds each and this j bar had no issues carrying it for 2 hour road trips.

I worry about this guy lines off the front (or back). If your straps should fail, the kayak would be flailing all over the place, banging into your vehicle and maybe others as well. I think it would be safer and cause less damage to let your kayak fly free and land in a ditch than to have it swinging off a tether at 70 mph.
