I love lightnings. I've had two of them. I started with a 99 red, which blew a plug out of the head, due to a small number of threads in the heads. Ford wouldn't honor the replacement, because they found the chip, which I forgot to take out at the time. They knew it was a problem at the time but still didn't honor replacement heads. oh, well, I fixed it nonetheless... a few mustangs in between, then the 04 Sonic Blue came into play. I beefed her up with lots of goodies and oh what fun I had with those badass trucks.

You can fit 2 amps, 20 lb magnet subs behind the seat in a ported box. I regret not going for 12's. Can confirm with driver bench seat sound system 5 girl capacity. Out in Dallas with girls from Kansas. I blew them thru the high five interchange. They were like what are these roads what is this vehicle. The supercharger whine melted faces. Holy sh*t. So fun.

Bought my 03 from a Ford parts guy w 5k miles on it. Best use of inheritance money ever. Almost fell for an 04 sonic Blue. But I met 03 Mr Red Rocket in love ever since. Besides demolishing people street racing bone stock, still getting eyeballed by people no I'll never sell. This engine got me out of flash flood near submarine ordeals during Katrina/Rita. The truck led the way, water up to air intake by sidemirrors. Freeway not moving b lets drive the TX grass next to the highway, no a.c. praying you make a gas station. Really scary in an emergency this truck is amazing.

You talk about lightnings being "pigs". I've got a black 99. It's pretty much stock except for k&n intake, diablo pcm, magnaflo exaust. It's got 250,000 miles. But does not burn a drop of oil and gets 18mpg. Hell it still gets 14 or 15 mpg hammering on it. True story.

Band It this probably makes around 500, hasn't been dyno'd yet. It has a pretty penny in it. But still need a full fuel system before putting on a real blower. Then it will be "really fast"

I doubt you will find a stock one without paying a ton for it. If you do start stock, all you need is a 4lb lower pulley, or 6lb but its risky on stock internals, ported blower, maf, and a Good tune will put you in the 12's. Should run you around a grand. That being said, there are tons of them for sale with these mods plus a few others for 14-$16000. Mine has these mods plus smaller blower pulley, throttle body, valve body and made 446 whp and has run 12.3 on heavy 20" wheels with street tires. You definitely wont regret getting one. They are a blast and get lots of attention.

I've already gotten plans and a game plan to make a Tribute SVT Thunder. Which if you dont know was the canceled Lightning drivetrain/Suspension set up in a 2nd Gen Expedition ('00-04'?). Can someone get me the list of exactly everything Ben done to this lightning?

Ported heads, stage 3 cams (don't remember brand), ported the turkey pan, joker ported blower, 6lb lower pulley setup, long tubes, no cats, tuned. Internally, manley rods and Pistons, cobra jet crank, balanced

Ford also had a concept called the lightning bolt, which was lightning drivetrain in a stepside reg. Cab ranger.

@@youtubetrollking1880 Yes i am aware. It was so front heavy it would nose dive straight into the pavement sadly. They never could fix that issue and it was canceled. They also had a Sport Trac Model in the later 2000s with the SVT Adrenaline which was a Sport Trac with an AWD Sport system and the Supercharged 5.4V Triton. It was canceled for unknown reasons. Although,Ford still went with the Adrenaline Body kit that you could buy from the factory. It just didnt have the Lightning Drive train or the AWD system.

if you do try to buy one with a built motor, you will thank me later. Trust me spend the extra money. stock block can only make about 460-480 on stock blower, 550 with the new whipple 2.9. I love mine to death but i wish i could throw a blower on and make 700 just cant do it without building it.

If he's looking to 6r80 swap be very leary of the quick 6 controller. I know a couple of people who are having tons of issues with them. Just driving around town its fine, but at wot it has a mind of its own. Quick 6 is supposed to be coming out with a totally updated controller for the 6r80 so mabye they'll get it right. As of now I would stay away.

Band It Trucks are on the old side most have high mileage and need to be rebuilt so you can swap whatever transmission you want into it they have videos of stick shift lighting's on KZbin.
