Doug Martsch is highly respected up here in the Pacific North West. He's probably the artist that I've seen live most from his earlier band Treepeople to his collaborative work with Caustic Resin to Halo Benders. BTS just recently released a new album so far it appears to sound like classic Doug.

Modest Mouse has Doug to thank for their sound. 764-HERO and so many incredible bands were overlooked and lost during the grunge years. I was there in the basements and I wish the "other" Seattle/Issaquah/Olympia bands were appreciated more.

BTS was one of my favorite bands to see live back in the day. Three amazing guitarists creating such a beautiful wall of sound, almost as if all three were soloing at the same time but interlocking perfectly. I think they are down to a 3-piece live now, right?

Nick, thanks for this video! This is a band that is from Idaho , which is where i grew up. They are amazing indie/emo band . They never got huge commercially but have a cult following! Doug Marsch is the singer and guitarist and writes all the songs. Just saw them in concert a couple months ago in Spokane Washington. Glad you enjoyed it. They have some great records worth checking out. Share with Lex too. I had her in mind as well with this request! Thanks so much Nick! Cheers my friend!

Eric did you ever get to see Treepeople? I was friends with Scott Smalljohn and Pat Brown from Treepeople and hung out with Doug a few times while the boys were living in Seattle. We had common friends from Boise, Scott and Scully Davis, August Lightfoot.

BTS is a staple in my library. Have been forever. So many great tracks. A live band not to miss. Doug is a treasured diamond too few know about. Love so many to suggest. Can’t go wrong with their most polished, “Carry the Zero”. But love “Going Against Your Mind”.

@@mattperegrine873 yes to Black Happy! They are from Couer’d alene idaho. Where i grew up. My Pastor was the father of most the members in the band. I love them and followed them for years!

They sound, at least Vocally, to me, like Death Cab for Cutie. I do know of, Built to Spill, for their excellent Cover Version of Brian Eno's Song, Third Uncle.

The death cab singer has mentioned built to spill as one of his major influences. He’s into guided by voices too. He has a really Good music taste. I should listen to more of them but haven’t dug very deep with them. Love the song Cath though

@@thelegendarye2430 I'm originally from Chicago. I heavily got into Eno with his Another Green World through to Ambient 4 while studying at U of I (Champaign-Urbana). I moved to Berkeley Ca , in 82' been in the Bay Area since. Quick Eno Story. Around 83' or 84', while I was listening to a Rock n' Roll Station, 3 or 4 obscure Solo Eno by Songs played on that Station. A Female Voice, after one of those Songs, chimed in with a, "All Enoooooo Radio", Call Voice. I was shocked and in disbelief. Eno Songs continued. I got on the phone to tell Others Nationally, as to what was occurring here. The outgoing Station Manager created "All Eno Radio", for three consecutive days. Google it.

Dive in my friend. The guitar work is absolutely spectacular. So vastly underrated. Keep it like a secret is a great album to star with. Carry the Zero, time trap, else. But so many good ones you can’t go wrong.
