I don't believe he is traumatized. Instead, he has evolved. He managed to complete a bachelor's and master's degree in prison. In order to attend school in prison, you need to be in general population amongst other inmates . Buju clearly embraced the reality that he was locked up and instead of falling apart, he made lemonade out of lemons by furthering his education. It showed in his eloquently delivered speech. It is not trauma. It is evolution. 😊

I think at this point in time Buju has surpassed the music that he loved so much and represented over the years. He has definitely elevated to another level. He is much more philosophical and looking forward to contribute more than music to society. Based on his demeanor, it seems as if his incarceration was his biggest motivation to show the world that this situation only made him much stronger to take on a bigger task in life. This man has now commanded the respect that he do so deserve. He will definitely take it to the next level beyond music. Buju, you did your time, now it's time to shine. Jamaica loves you.
